I kept getting notifications popping up about some sort of porn software being found. I decided to ring the number displayed, and the chap on the other end gave me his employee ID. He requested remote access to my computer, but I wasn’t comfortable handing that over, thinking it might be a scam. When I expressed my concerns, he got a bit angry, saying, "Well, you’re the one who called me!" I told him I’d confirm his employee ID and would get back to him if everything checked out. To no one’s surprise, it didn’t seem legitimate. I promptly closed the application using task manager, and that sorted everything out.

Earlier today whilst I was on my computer, I received a rather alarming notification claiming that my system had been compromised by explicit content and that a horde of nefarious individuals were accessing my device and the rest of my network. They rattled off a bunch of my personal information and insisted that rectifying the issue would set me back £450 plus an additional £150 for each device connected. Luckily, I quickly twigged that it was all a ruse. So, it’s wise to remain cautious about who you engage with and what you take at face value, as these scammers are remarkably deft and persuasive in their tactics.

I encountered a rather frustrating situation where my screen suddenly became unresponsive, accompanied by a rather alarming message claiming my computer had been infected by some rather unsavoury content. It urged me to make an immediate call, warning that if I didn’t, Microsoft would disable my computer. Curiosity got the better of me, and I rang them up using my landline. They pretended to be from Microsoft and assured me they could resolve the issue, but only if I forked out 250 quid. I quickly realised it was all a con and told them as much, at which point they abruptly ended the call. Absolute nonsense!

I received a call on my home phone from a chap claiming to represent some international organisation. He mentioned a reference number, Jon 800-276-6211. I couldn't help but notice his accent, which sounded distinctly Indian.

Many thanks, Mr or Mrs Enigmatic! Kaspersky has truly performed miracles for my laptop. I’ll definitely be spreading the word to friends and family. As I mentioned earlier, I’m also planning to contact my internet provider to investigate if there are any pesky spammers tinkering with my connection. Cheers and best regards! Doc

I had an interesting call today from an individual who claimed he was from a tech support team. He insisted that my computer had been flagged for some unsavoury content, and that unless I allowed him remote access, it would be wiped in a mere five minutes by Microsoft. When I pointed out that I hadn't the foggiest who he was, he completely brushed aside my concerns, relentlessly instructing me on how to connect him to my device to supposedly rectify the situation. I made it abundantly clear that there was no way I’d let a total stranger gain access to my computer-he needed a dose of reality, if you ask me! He then promptly hung up. I’d strongly advise anyone who receives a similar call to ensure their systems are secure with a reputable antivirus like Kaspersky and make sure to inform your internet service provider about the incident. Best of luck, everyone! Cheers, Doc.

My computer just completely froze up on me. I was bombarded with eerie warnings about some sort of malicious spyware or riskware being identified. They insisted I phone this number so they could 'resolve' the issue, adding that shutting down the window would lead to Microsoft allegedly blocking my system. I was subjected to relentless verbal alerts, which made my skin crawl. I eventually called the number (with my number hidden, mind you) and was immediately asked for my phone number. When I inquired about why they needed it, they said it was in case the call got disconnected. I told them I’d rather ring them back if that happened. They insisted on having it and then instructed me to press a series of keys for them to gain control of my computer. This set off alarm bells, and I promptly hung up. I then ran a comprehensive scan with Kaspersky, which cleared me to shut the window down. Thankfully, no threats were found.
