Got a couple of texts from this number claiming to be Barclays Bank. They said they were sending me a ‘one time code’ for an Air BnB reservation. In the same message, they told me to call their “fraud department” on an 0330 number if I hadn’t made the booking. I deleted the messages now, but I checked that number here and loads of others reported the same thing - the scam about Air BnB and the code. I’ve flagged it as spam by texting 7726 to help get it looked into.

Blocking these scam calls is a complete pointless exercise. They’ve got endless fake numbers to keep harassing you and none of them can be tracked properly. Someone mentioned on here a while back a way to actually fight back and stop these crooks from ripping us off. The tools to do it exist, but no one in government wants to make it happen. If enough people ask their MPs about it, they’ll have to reply and may even take it seriously. It’s worth trying.
