Received a message from this number saying I’d been near someone with covid and to arrange a test right away. Found it odd it came from a mobile number supposedly linked to the NHS, so did some digging. Turns out Covid NI actually post a warning about this exact text on their site - so yeah, definitely a scam. If someone who is vulnerable or anxious got that by mistake, it could really freak them out badly. I reckon this kind of thing is seriously dangerous.

At first glance, the site looks legit, but when you try to open the NHS logos or the links for "accessibility statement," "cookies," or "our policies" at the bottom, they just lead to blank pages with weird, non-existent URLs. Plus, there are spelling errors and some inaccurate info about covid, like the line "appears dormant in the original test kits," which is definitely not true.
