Expect a text from your bank (mine was TSB) saying your card is temporarily frozen due to some suspicious transactions. The weird thing is, I actually made 2 out of the 3 purchases they mentioned, so somehow they figured out exactly where and how much was spent. They'll tell you to ring the bank's anti-fraud number, which turns out to be this very number. It's definitely a scam. Don’t fall for it!

I received a message saying there were 9 attempts to use my card on Just Eat, and they tried calling me from this number. I didn’t pick up, but got an automated voicemail. When I looked at my TSB app, there were 9 payments waiting to be approved, so I called the number back. They talked me through cancelling my card and ordering a new one. Later, I got a bit doubtful about whether it was genuine, so I checked my card status in the app and saw the card was indeed cancelled. Someone rang me pretending to be from TSB about suspicious activity on a card, but the name they mentioned wasn't mine. They kept saying the person lived here and they needed to speak with them urgently. When I told them I'd never heard of that name and haven’t had a TSB account in over 30 years, they just accused me of lying and threatened to block my card right away, lol. They've called me four more times since then, leaving voicemails asking me to ring them back on the same number.

0345 351 1695 I got a recorded call saying it was from Lloyds TSB fraud team saying my bank card might have been used without permission. It then asked me to confirm my date of birth so I just hung up straight away.

This was defo not a scam. I got a message from TSB asking me to verify a transaction I never did. So, I checked my online bank and saw my card had been used without my permission. Instead of calling the 1695 number they texted, I rang TSB's Fraud Team on 0345 835 7922, and they told me it was legit from them using the number 03453511695.

03453511695, just to clear up confusion from earlier messages about 07782389185. I got in touch with TSB fraud team through a different number and they checked my account. They said they were indeed trying to reach me. Someone attempted an online purchase at Card Factory (not Card Fair) with a cancelled card. Problem is, TSB won’t confirm which numbers they call from. So if you’re unsure, best to call the number on the back of your card or do a quick Google search first.

Got two texts last night at about 7.50pm saying my card was used twice on Cardfair yesterday, once in the morning and once at 7.50pm, both £1.69. The weird bit is the last 4 digits were from my old card that I lost back in early 2020! Then I got an automated call from 07782389185 saying the same card was used online and gave me a 3-digit code to use when I called back. As soon as I ended the call, the same number rang my landline! If it wasn’t for the card being old, I’d be really worried, but my online banking shows no transactions. Has TSB been compromised?

Phony phone call from fraudsters alleging to be from the TSB fraud team has been reported and the number used in the call does not correspond to the legitimate TSB fraud helpline. It has been classified as a scam and subsequently blocked.

Called on 31/12/14 at 8:11am and left a voicemail. Sounded quite believable, saying my TSB card was used fraudulently. Told me to ring back and enter a ‘token number 620’. Got three more calls that day at 10:07, 12:34 and 4:18pm but no messages left. Best not to pick up or do what they say.

Got a call this morning from 03453511695 claiming to be the TSB fraud department. They asked for last 4 digits of my card and my name, then said there was a payment of £170 to DHL International that looked suspicious. They wanted my date of birth, I gave the year but refused the month and day. They told me to press 1 if I didn't authorise the payment. I hadn’t, so I pressed 1 but the line just went busy so I hung up. Then I phoned the real TSB fraud line and they confirmed it was a scam. Be careful, sounds very convincing!

Funny enough, as I write this, this same number called again but didn’t leave any voicemail this time.
