I tried to make a payment on my BOS credit card today but it didn’t go through. Since then, this number has been calling me. The thing is, I’m abroad right now and they only have my mobile number from here, not this landline.

Every month or so, I keep getting loads of calls from 0345 351 1498. It’s some recorded message saying it’s about Mr Peter Micheals and suspicious activity on his credit card. They claim to be from Lloyds Bank. This has been going on for like three years now. About a year ago, I rang Lloyds and asked them to look into it, but they said they can only talk to Mr Peter Micheals. I told them he’s never lived here, but they didn’t seem to care. The calls started up again this morning at 8am. Now, I just use BT Call Protect and have blocked the number.

I got a message saying there was some dodgy activity on my Halifax credit card and to ring a certain number. I didn’t call it though, I went into my nearest Halifax branch instead and they told me it was really from their fraud department. So yeah, it was a legit number.

Got a call from Bank of Scotland with an automated voice talking about credit card issues. I called BoS back using a different number to check, and they said it was legit, but it still felt dodgy to me. I reckon it’s best to be cautious - always use a number you trust before handing over any info.

I just called Halifax and they told me the number is legit. I requested an internal transfer instead of calling back directly, but it still feels a bit dodgy. Not sure I fully trust the folks I spoke with, even though it was me who made the call!

THIS IS NOT THE HALIFAX!!! My elderly mum, who’s 80, got a call from this number saying her Halifax card was used overseas and told her to call this number straight away. I phoned Halifax using the official number from their site and they said it wasn’t them! It’s just scammers trying to steal your bank info, so just ignore and report it to your bank!

They kept calling me loads of times a day. First few times I picked up, they just ended the call straight away. On the last ring, they said they were from Halifax and wanted me to verify my bank info and address to stop fraud. I’ve just blocked them now.

03453512293 keeps ringing non stop claiming to be the Halifax. Not sure if this is a genuine number or just some scam. No proper bank or building society would call you multiple times a day like this, especially every other day. My mum is 80 and its really upsetting her. Please just stop calling!

I recently received a rather alarming automated call that I'm convinced is a scam. I'd advise against engaging with these folks. Instead, do reach out directly to your bank and scrutinise your statement. I noticed a peculiar transaction for £2.62 linked to Korman Hotel over in the States-yes, you heard me right, America! Best to keep an eye out!

I rang Bank of Scotland on a number I found in my online banking, and they said it was definitely from their fraud department about the transaction that didn’t go through yesterday. I phoned the number again today, got an automated message but they never asked me for any private details, so it seems like it’s a legit one.

Got a call from this number earlier today, and it turned out to be a proper Halifax fraud alert. I rang them back on the number listed on their official site, which was different, and they confirmed they had tried to reach me. I mentioned it felt dodgy, probably ’cause they used automated calls, but they didn’t seem bothered by what I said. Still, best to just ignore the original call and double-check by phoning the number on their website to be on the safe side.

This number rang me yesterday, 15/08/2016, and again today on the 16/08/2016. I called back and they asked me to verify two recent purchases, which I did. After the call ended, I rang Halifax online banking to check if this was really their fraud team. The person on the line put me on hold, double-checked, and then confirmed it was indeed the Halifax fraud team number 03453512293.

03453512293 called me three times on 8/7, I just ignored it thinking it was a scam. Then on 9/7, they called twice again and left a voicemail about Halifax fraud protection, asking for someone who doesn't live here - and we don't even have an account with Halifax anyway.

03453512293 - Got a call from this number early today. Seems legit, it's from Halifax Fraud Team. I had to ring them back since I usually ignore unknown numbers. It was a recorded message, they never asked for my bank info, just wanted me to verify my name and asked a few questions about my birthday. Thankfully, my account was all good and the transactions in question were mine. Nice to see Halifax has something like this set up.

I called Halifax customer support and they confirmed that number belongs to their fraud department. The money was definitely taken from my account the next day, which stressed me out a bit. Then on Monday, all the money was put back into my account, probably a loss for Halifax. The day after, I got my new card through the post. I’m really thankful and can say that this number is legit for who they claim to be.

Last Friday (22nd April), I got calls on both my mobile and landline from someone saying they're from the Halifax fraud department, saying there had been several withdrawals from my account. When I looked at my bank, indeed there were five amounts taken out. I rang them back and they were quite supportive, assuring me the pending payments would be stopped and advised me to destroy my card. Afterwards, I looked up this site and wasn’t too pleased with the mixed feedback people have left.

Got a call from Halifax on Saturday 9th April around 1:11pm. They said they were from their Fraud Department and told me some money had been moved from my account to Barclay Card, but it got stopped because there was also another payment to Occardo that I did not make. They told me to destroy my card and promised to send a new one out. Really glad Halifax acted so quickly on this.

This is Halifax. I got a text saying a payment was being made and asking if it was mine or not. I replied no, but when they asked me to call back, I didn't. I always check my bank’s website and call a different number for safety. I spoke directly with Halifax who confirmed the number was from their fraud team. My card was cancelled and the money refunded to my account. If this number rings you, get in touch with your bank straight away. They’re really trying to help you.

0345 351 2293 - got called by this number 3 times within like 15 hours. each time it was an automated voice telling me to ring back and enter 3 more digits but i ignored it. then I went to one of the halifax branches nearby since the message mentioned the halifax fraud team. turns out it was legit. someone had been draining money from my joint account with my partner but using my card details and name. halifax sorted it out right away, refunded the money, cancelled my card and told the police. if you're unsure, don’t call the number back, just pop into your local branch instead.

never share your personal info with these heartless creeps, just block them and forget what they say. if they mention anything about your account, ring your bank straight away. my advice: after getting calls like this, just call your bank to see if everything's alright and tell them about these calls. stay safe and keep these nasty people away from you.
