Got a voicemail from someone pretending to be HMRC - total scam. Just ignored it.

Got a call saying it was from HMRC, warning me I'd be taken to court over tax fraud unless I rang their number back, or else I'd be arrested straight away! Couple of things to remember: 1) HMRC as such doesn’t really operate like this anymore. 2) If any authority was truly going to prosecute, they wouldn’t give you a heads up like that - it’d just let the person skip out. Best thing to do? Just ignore and hang up.

Just got called by some new scammer using a different trick. I’ve put in a report about that dodgy number using the info from gov.uk. Hopefully they’ll sort it out soon.

Got a call from some number I didn’t recognise, but they hung up before I picked up. After seeing what other people have said here, I’m thinking next time these cheeky scammers try that, I’ll pick up and mess with them properly.

Got a call where some automated voice said there was a tax claim against me and warned of legal trouble and being arrested right away! Such ridiculous threats, I just found it laughable and ended up blocking the number without a second thought.
