Got a call from a woman saying my “Home Tech” policy on my telly had ran out and that I could renew it cheaper since I hadn’t made any claims. I told her I didn’t recall any policy like that and would check into it. She said she’d ring me again but I’ve since blocked the number.

A lady called me asking if I was a particular person, which immediately set off alarm bells in my head. Nevertheless, I decided to hear her out. She’s been dialling my number repeatedly. She started talking about television and mentioned a claim I supposedly hadn’t made. I politely interjected, telling her that this all sounded a bit dodgy. Her reaction was quite taken aback, as if she couldn’t believe I’d suggest such a thing. Despite her assurances that it was all above board, I insisted it felt suspicious and expressed my desire to end the conversation. I also requested that she kindly remove my number from her calling list, given the numerous calls I’d received from her number. She hung up, but I made sure to keep my tone civil. Now, let’s see what unfolds!

Got a call from Home Care about insuring my TV, saying the policy had ended (though I'd never even signed up for one), and tried to offer a cheaper rate. Before I could explain, the woman just cut me off and hung up. Honestly, steer clear of them - they just twist the truth to get you to pay.

When I picked up the phone, the bloke straight away knew my name. He went on to mention that I coughed up £180 last year for my television insurance and, since I hadn’t put in a claim, he could offer me a "special deal" of £170 for the next two years. I was taken aback and said, “That’s odd because I’ve never actually paid for any TV insurance.” At that point, he abruptly hung up on me! I’ve now blocked the number, but what a complete con artist! I really hope that no vulnerable older folks fall prey to these despicable scammers!

The caller was a young lady with a British accent, sounding cheerful and bright. She mentioned that my tv insurance, which I don’t even have, was about to run out and even used my old address - I moved over a year ago. I told her I don’t own a tv, let alone any insurance for it, and that I don’t live there anymore. I also asked her to take my info off their list. She said she’d do that, but honestly, I’m not convinced she will.

Got a call from Hometech insurance tryin to sell me a 2 year renewal for the price of one. Told them I just found out my telly was knackered and asked if they could sort a claim for me. They said yeah, but first I gotta pay for the new policy. I lost it, told the woman to jog on cos Ive never even had insurance for my TV. These scammy calls come in every day, but they dont like it when I put the boot in and tell them to do one proper!

Got a call from Hometech insurance saying they could renew my policy for two years at the price of one. I told them my telly had just gone kaput and asked if they could put in a claim. They said I had to buy the new policy before claiming. I lost it, gave them a right earful, and told them to jog on since I’ve never had a policy for my TV. I get loads of these dodgy calls nearly every day, but they don’t handle me shouting back or telling them to piss off, you scammers!

These fraudsters are absolute nightmare for me. I usually get around 4-6 calls every single week from those so-called "agents" trying to sell me stuff like Sky TV insurance (even tho they ARE Sky), cheaper car breakdown cover or saying they're British Gas and can sort my boiler. I've started picking up the phone like, "What do you want THIS time???" Right now I’m stuck on 2 crutches and wearing a wrist brace because of my disability, so honestly, these muppets are the last thing I want to deal with!

Got a call about my TV, they asked how it was working. I said "mind your own business, bye," and blocked them straight away. Definitely an insurance con. You'd think some official agency would have a record of whoever owns this number and could put an end to these annoying cold calls if they wanted. But the telco giving them the line is probably just as dodgy!

Saying they’re from insurance for Sky/TV. My dad, who’s 82, has been coughing up money to these guys every month for 2 years. I’ve blocked the payments through his bank now, but the Sky box keeps needing to be reset all the time (turning it off then on again). They’re just a bunch of scammers, proper lowlife company.

I received a rather cheeky call claiming that I hadn’t lodged a single claim on my television insurance, and as a result, they could present me with a splendid offer. She abruptly ended the call after that!

I keep getting calls from this number that just end abruptly. Today, someone tried to speak but couldn't even say my name properly. I ended up telling them to "get lost," and they responded with some odd tone-couldn't tell if it was a man's or woman's voice-saying something like, "That’s rather unkind." I just hung up after that. So this bloke with a proper English accent called me up, saying I hadn’t made any claims on my TV insurance and could get a cheaper deal for the year ahead. Thing is, I’ve never even had TV insurance before, so I just hung up. I can see how folks might fall for this and end up sharing personal stuff without realising it’s all a scam!
