I’ve gotten loads of calls, texts and even a voicemail all today. The text says I need to answer Yes or No about some recent "transaction". I didn’t respond. Funny enough, I just started a free trial for a product I trust. They say this “transaction” was declined, which is odd since my trial is still running. So I decided to ring my local bank branch and turns out it was a genuine call from their fraud team. They ended up cancelling my card and sent me a replacement one.

They then asked if I recognised the last 5 transactions on my account. After I confirmed, they said any temporary hold on my account was lifted. Actually got a call from Barclays Fraud Team. If you wanna check, you can block your number in your phone settings and call them back. It’s just a local rate. They will ask if a particular payment was made and importantly they'll say exactly which one. They won’t ask for any info that could put you at risk. Legit call, for sure.

This number called me asking about some account activity, but I’m only 17, so my mum said it sounded like a scam. To be sure, I got in touch with Barclays through their app’s live chat and they confirmed it was an official call from them. I’m a bit puzzled because some people reckon it’s a scam and even say Barclays might be involved, which is a bit worrying. Still, Barclays assured me it’s legit, but I’ll definitely keep monitoring my account just in case.

Sounds like a SCAM to me. Got a call from a robotic voice claiming to be from Barclays Fraud Department, saying there was suspicious activity on my account. Problem is, I don’t even bank with Barclays! Be cautious, this is very likely a scam. NEVER share any details with these calls!!!
