Got a call from this number earlier, claiming to be Bank of Scotland about some payment issue. First message was weird - started mid-sentence like they cut off another call, then asked if it was me (it wasnt) and to press 1. Then another one saying somethings wrong with my card, asking me to press any key. Definitely a scam, keep an eye out, same number calling a few times this afternoon.

As soon as I got back home, I got a call from this number claiming to be from Bank of Scotland’s fraud team. They said a transaction was on hold and told me to press any key. It seemed fishy, so I did a bit of digging and realised the number didn’t match the actual fraud department’s contact. Definitely sounded dodgy to me.

Without a doubt, this is a total con. I received a message claiming that the Bank of Scotland had detected some dodgy activity on my account and urged me to ring immediately, warning that I might face issues with my card. Now, I've been inundated with calls and texts demanding that I reach out to them at 03330459580, which I’m steadfastly ignoring. Additionally, I’m getting texts from 07401226179 saying my debit card was allegedly used for a transaction with Pontoon Specialists, and they've put that payment on hold. They're asking me to reply Yes or No regarding whether I made that purchase. Again, I'm just ignoring it all.

I got a text from BoS saying I’d get another message and not to reply yes. Then I received one asking if I’d paid 12p to Sodick inc, I replied no. Shortly after, got a message saying thanks for confirming and asking to press Y to protect my account from fraud. I didn’t reply. Then they called my mobile from 03330459580 but I didn’t pick up. Next, they rang my landline and I ignored it too. I contacted my bank this morning and had to get a new card sorted. Don’t trust this number or the one they text from - 07740361473.

Received four phone calls on both my landline and mobile within just two and a half hours, with the caller professing to represent the Bank of Scotland. They were prattling on about safeguarding against scammers while shopping online, supposedly in response to a recent unsuccessful purchase attempt they couldn't prevent. I promptly got in touch with my bank to verify, and they reassured me that my card remains secure and untouched. I've now taken the precaution of blocking this number.

The biggest issue with social media is how quickly a comment is taken as truth. I was suspicious of this number because of that, but the real problem isn’t the number itself, it’s a website called helpmanuals.com. The number is legit and the reason they gave is actually true, but the bad part isn’t the number, it’s why the text was sent in the first place. Social media is just a bunch of digital graffiti if you don’t know all the details - better to leave the wall empty.

On the evening of 11th September 2021 around 8:38pm, I got a call from this number, then it rang me three more times the next day afternoon. An automated voice said something like: "Hi, this is to Mr (my name) from Bank of Scotland's fraud prevention team. We've spotted activity on your bank debit card and want to help prevent any fraud. I actually got a call that was legit from BOS. At first, I wasn’t sure and kinda worried about the number, so I looked up a different BOS contact online and rang them to double-check. They put me through to the right team and verified they had sent me the text and voicemail. Turned out there really was some dodgy activity on my account. They cancelled my card right away and sent me a new one out.

Got a message claiming it was from BoS saying they'd send another text to verify payments made with my BoS debit card. Soon after, I got another text from a random mobile number. I didn’t reply or confirm anything, instead reported it to the BoS fraud department. After that, I got one call at my house and three more on my mobile from the same number, with automated messages on the answer machines. Just to be clear, this isn’t the real BoS fraud team - it’s scammers trying to trick you.

Got a call supposedly from Bank of Scotland about fraud. It wasn’t one of those robotic messages and they didn’t quiz me with security questions or anything. I’d gotten a text saying there was an attempt to pull money from my account by a company I’d been trying to cancel my subscription to for ages. When I tried to top up my phone, my card was declined because it had been blocked. Then later on, they rang me from this number and just asked for my full name and birthday, no security check. Soon after, my card was working again, so it didn’t seem dodgy to me at all.
