03002003942 Summary (Read all comments)

Phone number ☎️ 03002003942 👆 is reported as a persistent and alarming scam posing as HMRC, using automated calls threatening arrest over alleged fraud. Callers often use UK numbers beginning with 0300, exploiting trusted phone prefixes to appear legitimate. Many note the calls are intimidating, especially for vulnerable and older individuals, and stress that HMRC never contacts by automated phone calls regarding fraud or arrest. The scam involves recorded male voices urging recipients to press a number, often claiming urgent legal action pending. Callers frequently change numbers to avoid detection, complicating efforts to trace them. It is highly recommended to hang up immediately, avoid pressing any keys, verify with official HMRC channels independently, and report such calls to the authorities and your MP for increased regulation of number provisioning and scam prevention.

These scammers keep bothering people pretending to be from the local council. This is the third time they've contacted me. The government really needs to step in and put a stop to this nonsense.

I just got a call like this too. It was a bloke's recorded message claiming to be from HMRC, warning about fraud and arrest. It's awful that stuff like this goes on, and the cops should really step in to deal with these scam calls.

Just got a call from some robot voice going on about tax fraud. I hung up straight away. The worst part is, it looks like you can't even complain about these calls to the TPS. Proper annoying, honestly.

This number phoned me too. Like everyone else here, it was an HMRC scam. I’ve gone ahead and reported it straight to HMRC.

Got another call today, just like many I've been getting these last few months. Totally agree with someone earlier who said there should be more rules for the firms giving out these untraceable UK landline numbers. I'm thinking of dropping an email to my MP to raise this issue and also question why the cops aren’t cracking down harder on this. I reckon it’ll take a bunch of people who've had these scam calls to step up before anything actually gets done.

Got a really scary call from someone pretending to be HMRC, just like loads of others here. It’s worrying how this could mess with older folks. I’ve gone ahead and told the Fraud Agency about it.

Like others have mentioned already, I got a call pretending to be from HMRC threatening to arrest me unless I hit 1 and handed over cash. Normally, I don't get fazed but this really gave me a fright at first before I remembered it was probably a con. It worries me how easily someone who’s more vulnerable might fall for it though.

Got a robo call claiming to be from HMRC, saying my name’s involved in some fraud thing and to hit 1 or I’d get arrested. Just a heads up, HMRC don’t do automated calls like that or threaten you. Definitely a scam.

I didn’t pick up the phone when this number rang, but when I looked it up online, the top result looked like a site for HMRC or something official. Still, I didn’t click on it, and honestly, after reading what everyone else has said here, I’d warn against clicking anything from that number!

He warned me that if I didn't press 1, then I'd get a warrant and get arrested soon. Total rubbish, obviously a scam. I just ended the call straight away.

I received a rather menacing call purporting to be from HMRC, insisting that I press a certain number or face arrest. Interestingly, I've had two similar calls this week alone, so I've gone ahead and blocked those numbers. It’s astonishing how often these scams seem to crop up!

Honestly, it’s crazy that these scoundrels are still sending out this rubbish. Whoever you are, young, old, man, woman, whatever colour - just ignore them completely. Don’t bother with it, just hang up straight away. And if you’ve got a caller ID, best thing is to just not pick up at all. Don't give 'em the time of day!

Got a call from a bloke with a male voice claiming my name was involved in fraud and to press 1 or I’d be arrested. Let the call run and he said I owed more than £2000. I kept telling him if I contacted HM Revenue and Customs, they’d confirm the same thing. He kept insisting they were HMRC. Like others have said, if HMRC wanted me, they’d know where I am. Don’t fall for this - always check with HMRC yourself. I’m ex-military and even this had me a bit shaken, knowing people pull stunts like this. Stay safe out there, folks!
