i wouldnt trust hmrc with anything personal. one of their officers broke the rules and gave out my partner’s address and personal info to her boyfriend. he showed up at our home without permission and caused us a lot of upset. we initially thought hmrc would sort it internally and didnt bother reporting it to the ico. honestly, that was a mistake. hmrc only made things worse and still havent properly apologised for what happened, which just adds to the stress.
