I never got a call from this number, but I did get a letter claiming I was due a tax refund and asking me to verify who I was. The phone number was included in the letter. Be careful and don’t scan any codes because it’s definitely a scam.

I never got a phone call from this number, but I did get a letter through the post saying it was from HMRC. When I looked up the phone number printed on the letter, it took me to this site full of people warning about scams.

Absolute scam artists! HMRC will never ring your phone out of the blue, they always send letters first. Don’t fall for it!

This number left me a message saying I was going to be arrested for tax evasion 😂😂😂 I couldn’t stop laughing. They’ve tried calling me a couple of times from numbers that were almost the same. I’ve blocked both now and reported it to HMRC. You should definitely do the same. And whatever you do, don’t ring them back - it’s a premium rate line! X

Got a call from what seemed like HRMC, but it was just some robotic voice telling me to press 1 or else they’d send a warrant and arrest me soon. Sounded totally fake to me.

Definitely a dodgy call. I’ve reported the number to HMRC so they can check it out with their cyber team. The bloke I spoke to said it was a new number they hadn’t come across yet, so seems like the scammers are using fresh lines. It was pretty close to the real HMRC number too, which is worrying. Still, glad they’re looking into it now :)

Got a call, picked up but no one was there, then they just ended the call. Tried ringing back and it showed HMRC on the screen, but I didn’t bother answering - seemed like a total scam to me.

Got a call from this number twice today and my phone's built in spam alert popped up straight away. After seeing what other people said about it, I decided not to answer. I’m definitely putting them on my block list so they don't bother me anymore!

So today I got a call saying I’m about to be arrested! Sounds like one of those American scams but they switched it up to sound like it’re from HMRC here. Funny thing is, they used some robotic voice with a strange American accent, which doesn’t really fit. I’m in payroll and just got a letter from HMRC, so I’m pretty sure my tax stuff is all clear, nothing owed personally or from PAYE. Complete nonsense if you ask me!
