Got a robo call claiming to be from HMRC, saying there’s a tax fraud case against me. They told me to hit 1 to talk to someone or else I’d be arrested straight away. I just ended the call and blocked the number. Honestly, that kind of message could really freak some people out.

I saw the missed call but decided not to answer, and I’m really happy I didn’t! Today’s the deadline for last year’s self assessment tax, so I was worried at first. After checking out some other feedback, it seems it’s a pretty clever scam going around. The number was ‭0300 200 3651‬, just a heads up for anyone else who gets it.

Got a call today from some automated bloke saying I owed back taxes and to hit 1 or I’d get arrested. Bit odd all these spam calls are popping up on the same day, 31st January! Seems like the usual tax fraud nonsense to me.

Got a call from someone claiming to be HMRC this morning. Said I had a warrant and owed them £2800. They even gave me some ID number. While we were on the phone, I quickly looked up the number on my iPad and when I told the woman about it, she just cut the call. Bit unsettling, she acted really pushy too! The number they used was 03002003651. Definitely a scam.
