I chose not to pick up the phone this morning when it rang at about 11 o'clock.

This morning, I received a rather alarming call claiming there was tax fraud linked to my name. When they began probing for my personal details, I decided it was only fair for them to confirm who they were first. The so-called "advisor" bluntly told me I could hang up if I wanted to, but hinted that if an officer showed up at my door to arrest me, I'd realise they were genuine. Naturally, I swiftly ended the conversation.

Apparently, it's HMRC on the other end with a pre-recorded message. They assert that you have some unpaid tax and press you to hit 1 to connect with one of their representatives. It’s all a massive scam; HMRC would never initiate contact like this. Quite amusing, really, as most of these so-called "agents" sound like they’ve just learned English and are often from India!

I received an automated call informing me that I'm about to be arrested due to tax evasion. Honestly, if you're going to try to pull a fast one on me, at least have the decency to do it face-to-face. This sort of nonsense is really tarnishing the reputation of robots everywhere!

I just received a call from them, but I chose not to pick up. They left a rather alarming voicemail, claiming that if I didn’t hit one immediately, someone would be dispatched to apprehend me for fraud. Quite the scare tactic, really!

I received a rather alarming call, purportedly from HMRC, which left me quite rattled. The caller claimed I was implicated in some sort of fraudulent activity, and they warned that failure to respond would lead to a warrant being issued against me. The number was 03002003300, the same one that had contacted me the day before. They instructed me to press 1 if I wished to speak with a representative. Naturally, I complied, but to my surprise, after a brief pause, the call just cut off! Quite the peculiar experience, I must say.

I received a call from them earlier today, but I chose not to pick up.

I received a voicemail that claimed there was some tax fraud linked to me, and if I didn’t hit 1 to connect with an officer, the police would be knocking on my door soon. Honestly, I'm well into my retirement and haven't paid taxes in over a decade, so I just dismissed it. It’s utterly appalling that folks have to endure such distressing messages!
