Like many others, I got a phone call warning me about some tax fraud stuff, and they told me to hit 1. I didn’t do it though. Has anyone actually tried ringing that number back to find out who answers? If you have, I’d be interested to know what happened. Honestly, this just feels like a scam to me.

It was obviously a scam but kinda smart as well - the call seemed to be from a number quite close to the real HMRC’s usual range.

Got a call from 0300 200 3360 where they said I had to hit 1 to talk to a HMRC person about some tax fraud issue. I did press 1 and then all it did was hang up on me. Is this one of those scams that could compromise my personal info like banking details or passwords? Just wanna make sure I’m safe.
