This number, 0300200335, rang me up claiming to be from HRMC. They said if I didn’t sort out some money they said I owed, I’d be arrested in a matter of hours. They even tried to sound legit by giving me the phone number for my nearby police station! The accent was definitely not proper English, if you ask me. Just a heads up, don’t hand over any bank details or send them cash, it’s definitely a scam.

Yep, me too! I just replied, “Bring it on! :D”

Got a call from this number just now, and I was already aware of it because they’d tried phoning me from another 0300 number last week which I blocked straight away. I sent it to voicemail straight away but no voicemail was left, as I suspected. Another scammer added to my ever-growing blocked list!

I never pick up calls from numbers I don’t recognise, and 03002003358 was one of those. They didn’t bother to leave any voicemail either. I decided to check the number here, and it’s on my BLOCKED list now, which is where all strange numbers end up!

I received a rather alarming call from an automated voice, complete with an American accent, claiming to be HMRC. They insisted that my account was under investigation for tax fraud and warned that if I didn’t press 1 straight away to speak with a representative, a warrant would be issued against me. It certainly gave me a bit of a fright initially, but upon reflection, it’s clearly a scam; HMRC would never reach out like this, nor would they alert you to a fraud probe in such a manner. I doubt they’d even use automated messages for such serious matters. This number is definitely dodgy.

Another scam call! Honestly, why doesn’t BT take any action about this? It’s getting so annoying.

Got some muppet on the phone saying I’m going to be arrested for dodging tax or something. Told him to get lost, quick sharp!

So, I got a call from this number where someone pretended to be a cop looking into a tax fraud issue with my name. They were really intimidating, saying the police would show up at my house in 30 minutes unless I paid straight away on the phone. When I said it sounded like a scam, they just cut me off and then rang me back right away from +999, telling me to go to the nearest police station. I've alerted the authorities about it now. Honestly, just hang up if you get a call like this!

Like others have said already, it's just mad these phone firms let these numbers keep working, especially when they're raking it in from all the calls! Proper bad behaviour if you ask me.

I tried reporting to the police twice but ended up on hold forever, which was really frustrating. It could easily annoy folks who aren’t as tough about these things. They hung up on me straight away, so I won’t be bothering to answer their calls again.

Got a call from HMRC saying I’m about to get arrested, total scam obviously.

Just like loads of others, I got a call from some American sounding robot saying I’m under investigation for tax fraud and if I don’t hit 1 there’ll be an arrest warrant out for me! If it had been someone speaking proper English, I might’ve actually fallen for it. It worries me how easily some folks, especially the vulnerable, could get tricked. I sent a report to [email protected] and you probably should as well!

Someone rang me and I decided to look up the number online. Up popped a site called “HMRC Call Connection” which suggested ringing 09037271230, charging £3.60 a minute, to contact HMRC customer support. Seems obvious they know folks will search the number if they fear they’ve been scammed. It was shown as a sponsored ad. The site is clearly designed to catch people out, with terms and conditions that cleverly stop you from taking any action against them!

Got the exact message like loads of others. I didn't press any buttons, just ended the call straight off. Bit worrying really since I just paid an HMRC bill this morning through bank transfer. What are the odds????? Def gonna report it to HMRC.

Been called by them two times already! If they ring again, I’m thinking of recording the call and sharing it on Facebook. They’re asking you to grab some vouchers and meet up with someone tomorrow to hand them over. Might actually go along with it just to see what happens!

Got a call from someone with a yankee accent claiming to be from HMRC, saying I’d be arrested unless I hit 1 to get in touch. Pretty sure that button just lets them rack up loads of charges or something dodgy like that. Definitely a scam, but if you believe it, it could cost you a fortune!
