03002003311 Same caller as others have mentioned here before. Typical HMRC tax scam. They threaten to freeze your bank accounts and say a court summons will be sent in the post. They say today is the final day you can pay before going to court. Also claim your passport will be taken at the airport. If you stay on the call long enough, they pass you to another person who explains how to pay. I told them I’d check the info they gave me and hung up. Contacted HMRC directly and they said it was definitely a scam, my tax is all in order.

Today, I got a call from these numbers 0300200 3311 and 0161 509 5965 saying I owed HMRC £4900 in tax. It sounded pretty real at first, but when they started asking for my NI number and stuff, I just hung up. It was a bit scary to be honest. I’ve reported it to the Anti Fraud folks online.

Got the same scam call as mentioned earlier, with them wanting £4785 and using the same name. The only change was they tried to put me through to someone pretending to be a police officer, but it totally felt like a con because they kept asking where I was so they could ‘arrest’ me.

Received a call from someone posing as HMRC, claiming that the police were on their way to cart me off for an arrest, seizing my property, vehicle, and belongings. When I mentioned that I wasn’t home, he threatened that they could track me down through my mobile. I couldn’t help but respond that I should probably make a swift exit then! Utter nonsense, really.

I’ve had the exact same experience. Here’s what happened to me. After getting really worried about the same scam you’re describing, I didn’t give them any cash. Then they started threatening to call the police and come round to my place. I rang the fraudster back on the original number ‭+44 1789 333945‬ and the bloke said they won’t catch the guy and that he’s just out there scamming people for money. I really can’t stand him.

Wow, this number phoned me saying I’m wanted for tax evasion but I told them I’ve been on a direct debit with the tax office for over five years, so that can’t be true. They sounded really believable and ended up taking £9000 from my bank today. It’s definitely a scam. I’ve reported it to both my bank and HMRC and fingers crossed I’ll get the money back. Beware of deceitful callers posing as HMRC representatives! They’re spinning a web of threats about imminent arrest over non-existent tax dues and demanding instant payment. It’s crucial to ignore these calls entirely - and if you happen to answer, simply hang up without pressing any buttons. Should they leave a voicemail, resist the urge to call back. Remember, there are no legal repercussions; it’s merely their tactic to instil fear. Stay vigilant!

This number has called me three times in just a few days now. The latest call was from someone speaking with a really strong American accent and sounded pretty pushy. It’s clear to me it’s a scam since HMRC wouldn’t contact people like that, and I don’t think they’d use American callers anyway. Still, I can imagine plenty of folks might fall for it, so it’s quite concerning.

I received a call from someone purportedly representing HMRC, who claimed to be from India. He seemed quite convincing, insisting that I had committed tax fraud due to underpayment of my income tax, which is utterly false. He ominously stated that I was on HMRC's blacklist and this was my final opportunity to rectify the situation. He made alarming threats about a court hearing, warning that should I lose, I'd be liable for an exorbitant fee exceeding £24,000, and that my passport would be seized alongside a complete freeze on my bank cards. He even offered, for a hefty sum paid immediately over the phone, to have his supervisor wipe the court order. To top it off, another colleague threatened me with arrest and imprisonment. It’s a massive con!

Hey, I just got a robo call from 02032908930 saying it's HMRC and accusing me of tax evasion. She started asking me loads of stuff like "do you have a lawyer? We did an audit on your tax records from 2015 till now and you owe the tax office £4400.
