Received a voicemail threatening that I might face arrest.

Today I missed a call from 0300 200 3201 and didn’t pick up. Later, I got a voicemail threatening me with arrest. Definitely a scam, don’t fall for it!

I got a call from the exact same number and decided to pick up. To my surprise, the person claimed there was some kind of warranty linked to me from HMRC. Naturally, I asked for more details and she said I’d apparently been overpaid by HMRC and owed £3,600.50 which I had to settle immediately. Then things got worse when she threatened to take my passport and driving licence away if I didn’t pay up. That’s when I lost it and told her I’d report her to the police for threatening me. She ended the call straight away after that. Definitely a scam! I spoke to my debt advisor afterwards and was told to never share personal info. Hopefully this gives others a heads up.
