Phone number ☎️ 03002003200 👆 is reported as a number frequently impersonated by scammers claiming to be from HMRC, especially targeting employers with alleged tax fraud threats. While it is indeed a legitimate HMRC helpline, it is often cloned by fraudsters who use aggressive tactics, including demands for immediate payment, threats of arrest, and attempts to extract personal and financial information. Multiple users warn against engaging with callers, who often have foreign accents and provide vague or inconsistent information. This number has rung me about five times now with all these demands. If I wasn’t used to dealing regularly with tax stuff, I might have believed they were legit. Honestly, they’re starting to annoy me quite a bit. What’s worse, they even sent a bank giro slip for payment straight into their account!

This number seems fake, like it’s been copied from somewhere else. Most likely a clone.

definitely a scam! It says you have a tax refund waiting but it’s all fake, don’t even bother calling back.

This is totally a scam, they claim you have a tax refund due. Do not call the number under any circumstances.

There was a baby crying in the backround which made me a bit suspicious right away, and on top of that, the person kept giving unclear answers when I asked why they wanted to talk to someone. I wouldn’t share any details if I were you, especially with calls from this number.

03002003200 called me, and I stupidly shared my NI number before realising it was a scam. The call quality was awful, which should’ve been a red flag. It’s wrong that this number is listed under HMRC on search engines - it's really deceptive. I’ve told HMRC about it, but I’m not expecting much to happen. Just be careful and steer clear of this one.

Got a letter from HMRC telling me to update my details, but the national insurance number on it was incorrect. They asked me to ring this number 0300 200 3200 to sort it out. Bit sketchy if you ask me.

On 17/02/21, I got two calls from this number. I called back but wasn’t pleased with how the conversation went, so I ended the call. Then, they tried ringing me again but from another number. I asked them to just send me a letter instead, and right after that, they cut the call.

Today I got two calls from what I’m sure was a scammer, but sadly I can’t share the numbers since Giffgaff doesn’t keep a log of incoming calls. The story he gave me was the usual one - he said I’m involved in tax fraud and I had two options: hire a lawyer or pay £1585 straight away. Then he said he’d transfer me to someone else who would give me the payment details. When I asked for his name, he said it was Joan Larcersen with an employee ID 98560 LR or something like that. Not long after, I got another call from a different bloke who was quite rude, telling me I had to pay immediately or else I’d end up in prison and calling me a fraud. I ended the call there. Both men had very strong Indian accents. The first guy talked to me for over half an hour.

I'm from West Sussex and just got a call from 03002003200 claiming to be from HMRC, saying I'd been reported for fraud and to press 1 to talk to an advisor. I pressed through and spoke with a woman who sounded like she had an Indian accent. I told her the call seemed dodgy and that I was suspicious it might be a scam. When I asked for more details, she abruptly hung up. She didn’t manage to get any info from me, but somehow they had my number already. Definitely a scam, so watch out for this one!

Got a call from 0300 200 0682, they said they were from HMRC and claimed I was being looked into for tax fraud. They told me to press 1 to speak to a fraud officer. When I did, a guy with an Indian accent answered, asked how I was doing, then just cut off the call. Pretty dodgy if you ask me.

I just got a call too
Caller said his name was Sam Parker
Badge number 98560LR apparently
I was almost fooled into handing over £1997
They try to rush you, saying you gotta decide right now and because the call’s being recorded, you’re not allowed to speak to your accountant. What a load of tossers!!!!!!
Watch out for BT too, once they’ve got your number they’ll come at you with all sorts of dodgy schemes to take your money.

So this number rang me up and told me to press one to connect to HMRC. I did, but the call just got dropped. Then, not long after, the same number called back and asked who sorts my tax returns. I told them I don’t do any tax returns. The bloke on the other end then just lost it and told me to f*** off, you mother f***er. Totally rude!

This number called me claiming to be Officer Sam Parker with batch number 98560LR. He said I had a warrant out because of an error on my tax forms and demanded I pay HMRC straight away in cash. I was suspicious, so I phoned HMRC directly and they confirmed it was a scam. I didn't give them a penny!

Today, I got a call at my job from someone claiming to be "David Cooper," who told me I was behind on my taxes and threatened some kind of investigation at my workplace. When I asked for more info about his role at HMRC, he just ended the call. What's really odd is that about 10 minutes earlier, someone with a voice that sounded very similar phoned asking about job openings. I told him to drop off his CV since I'd be at work today, and he even asked for my name. I can't help but think these two calls are connected and it's a bit fishy!

I got a call from someone claiming to be from HMRC, using the name John Smith and giving an ID number, something like 98560LR. He told me there was a mistake on my account from the last five years and that I owed a fine of £2450 which needed paying straight away. When I tried asking more questions, the line changed and another guy came on, calling himself Austin Miller. He threatened that if I didn’t pay up, I would end up in jail. I asked how to make the payment and he gave me a personal mobile number, 07893345208, to ring. I decided to just hang up instead.

I received a call from this number recently. The caller said his name was Mike Forster and gave me a badge number: 98560LR. He told me there’s a warrant about to be issued for my arrest because of an error on my tax return. First, he asked for my home address and mentioned that they had already sent me a letter several times about the unpaid taxes. He warned me that if I didn’t act soon, I’d be arrested. He then said I could either appear in court or sort it out immediately by paying the amount within 45 minutes. It felt really off to me.

This number’s just called me twice, saying they’re gonna put out a warrant for my arrest. They claim I owe £2500 and asked if I could pay £500 now and sort the rest in instalments. Seems like a proper scam to me.
