if you get a call saying it's HMRC about tax trouble, just hang up straight away. they dont usually call, they send letters through the post instead. best thing to do is block the number and ignore it.

Got a sketchy call, definitely some sort of scam.

I received a rather alarming voicemail today at precisely 1:39 PM. The message claimed, "Your name has surfaced as an owner and you are about to be arrested." I’ve certainly encountered my fair share of dodgy calls in the past, but never anything quite so brazen! The voicemail even prompted me to press one to connect further. Just goes to show the lengths these scammers will go to!

Got a call from someone claiming to be from HMRC, warning me that if I didn’t hit 1, they’d send a warrant to arrest me. When I finally spoke to the lady on the phone, she told me there was an arrest warrant for me because I hadn’t paid my taxes properly.

Got a call from someone claiming to be HMRC, telling me to press one to talk to an agent. I’m a bit sceptical about the whole thing, especially the bit about arrest warrants being issued just because you don’t pick up your phone. Feels a bit dodgy to me.
