Got calls from 0300 200 3098 a couple of times today but I never picked up. They didn’t leave any voicemail either. I had a look online to figure out what this number could be about.

Got a call from the same number, 03002003098, telling me I supposedly owe HMRC money and that I should press 1. It’s just a total scam. Make sure to block them and let your mates know not to trust these calls!

This morning I got a voicemail from a private caller warning me about supposed tax fraud under my name, and it told me to press 1 to talk to them or I’d be arrested immediately. I just ignored and ended the call. The day before, I was getting calls from a 0300 100 number but didn’t pick up any of them.

Got a message saying there’s some tax fraud going on and to press 1. Knowing HMRC, they usually send letters rather than weird calls like this, so I really doubt it’s legit. I’m gonna check in with my accountant just to be on the safe side. Caller definitely didn’t sound like HMRC to me.

Got a voicemail on my phone today, pretty much the same as what Andrew mentioned. The automated voice claimed I was involved in tax fraud and told me to press 1 to speak with an HMRC agent. I can’t imagine they'd handle these matters over the phone like that - usually, they'd send a letter if there was an issue. Pretty sure it’s a scam, so I just ignored it. Caller said it was HMRC or something.

Just had this number ring me with a recorded voice claiming to be from HMRC. I’ve noticed loads of calls coming from numbers close to this one too. Definitely a scam, don’t pick up or reply to any calls, messages, or emails saying they’re from HMRC - they’re not legit. Also, fyi, these calls aren’t blocked automatically!

got a call from someone claiming to be hmrc saying i was guilty of tax fraud and if i didn’t hit 1 i’d get arrested. proper scary and made me feel really worried.

Phone went straight to voicemail, where a robotic voice claimed I was being investigated for tax evasion and urged me to press 1 to speak to an HMRC representative. Thing is, HMRC don’t operate like that - they usually send letters or involve the police if needed. Classic scam. Also, no option to press anything since it was just a message left on answerphone. Now I’m supposedly facing immediate arrest. Caller: Unknown.

So a couple of days back I got this call on my landline, then today the same number rang my mobile. Seems like a total scam, especially since today’s a bank holiday and there’s no way HMRC would be open! The number showing was 03002003098.
