I just got a call from this number 0300 200 2245 claiming I’ve got unpaid taxes and that a court case is looming. I told them I’ve had an accountant for over seven years and everything’s sorted. Then the bloke started yelling, threatening jail and court options. He said they sent official letters on May 7th and 23rd, but no one was there - yeah right. When I asked for their number so I could ring back after checking with my accountant, he went off on a rant about how HMRC doesn’t work like that and then cut me off without even saying goodbye. Proper rude, and obviously a scam.
