Got a call from someone saying he was David Stewart, claiming to be from Microsoft. He told me my computer’s OS was hacked and that he was ready to assist. I asked where he was based and he said Reading, giving me a number to ring back on - 0300 400 241. I said I’d ring back later, but he insisted we had to sort it out straight away, then suddenly he cut the call. - number that called: 0300400241

Got a call from some bloke with a strong Mumbai accent who said his name was “David Stewart” and claimed to be from “Microsoft”. He told me my computer was hacked and that he was there to “fix” it. When I said I didn't run Microsoft but used an iPad, he insisted he could still help with that. After a bit of back and forth, he even threatened to call the police, then just hung up. Just another dodgy scammer trying to cause trouble. Why do these con artists get to keep pestering folks like this? - caller: 0300400241

Got one of those automated calls from HMRC the other day, threatening to send a warrant if I didn’t get back to them. Definitely one of those scams trying to scare you into replying.

About 10 mins ago, this number rang me but i didn’t pick up since i usually ignore calls from unknown numbers. Most times they’re just scammers or annoying telemarketers. So, i can’t really tell who it was or why they called. cheers for the other comments tho, they’re pretty useful!

I laugh every time I get calls like this! The whole "press one or you'll get arrested" thing is just daft. Honestly, I’ve heard funnier threats on old cartoons than from whoever was ringing from 03002002244. Seriously, who falls for this rubbish?
