Really odd experience. When I picked up, a lady said "hello?" sounding unsure like she wasn't expecting my call. I asked who was calling but as soon as she replied, a loud weird noise interrupted her, then it stopped just as she finished. I asked her to say it again and there was another brief noise before she just hung up. I don’t recognise the number at all. If this was a sales call, it’s definitely dodgy since I’m on the TPS list.

Rang at about 3:16pm, someone answered but didnt say anything then hung up - number got blocked. Not sure if it’s related but I got calls from the same area last week. On 18.07.22 also got calls from 02882777026 a couple of times, both got blocked and reported. Then 02882777021 called on 06.07.22, blocked & reported again, same area. OMAGH, NORTHERN IRELAND.

I seen a comment sayin they reckon this number is ringing from Ireland!!! Honestly, they dont understand how these scam calls operate. Everything you need to know about it and how to handle them is right here in the comments. You just gotta take a minute to read. Chances are, this number is actually linked to some computer in India. Then again, it could be coming from Russia or even North Korea.

A couple of posts down I explained how to help put an end to these scams and why just blocking them isn't enough. Reporting the calls doesn’t take any longer than sharing on this site. We won’t see instant results, but right now the police haven’t got a clue how widespread this problem is or the newest scams being tried. If everyone getting these calls and texts doesn’t report them and complain to their MP, nothing’s gonna change and those dodgy scammers will keep getting away with it.

I let her carry on, then asked her to prove she was really from O2 by telling me the amount of my last bill. She started mumbling loads, so I asked how they even got my number as I’m not an O2 customer and I’m on the Telephone Preference Service. Oddly, she just hung up on me! Proper rude. Totally a scam.
