Got a call from someone claiming to be O2 offering a £10 discount for a couple of months! Don’t fall for giving them any codes, they’re super convincing. They somehow bought a phone on my account and locked me out. Luckily, O2 were brilliant and fixed it quick as I had a bad feeling about it. After I ended the call (I was daft and gave them the code first), I rang O2’s customer service who cancelled the order and were really reassuring.

Said to be from O2. The trick they use is pretending to unlock your O2 account with your own phone number. So basically, they're messing about on the O2 site, trying to log in using your number. Then they ring you up saying there’s some discount available, but really, they want to unlock your O2 account which sends a code through text. If you give them that code, they can get into your account. It’s actually the same way an actual O2 user would reset their account if they’d forgotten their password.

This number is totally dodgy. They say they're from Carphone Warehouse but they’re not for sure, and definitely not calling from Downpatrick. The accent sounds more like it’s from somewhere in Asia, like the Philippines or Malaysia, and they speak English with an American twist, not like Indian or any European accent. Best to just block it and not answer.
