Some bloke claimed he was calling from Domestic Appliances and started asking stuff he shoulda known if it was legit. Didn’t want to accept my refusal at all! I told him to just send me something in the post and I’d have a look, but nope, he kept pushing for more details and then passed me on to his “line manager” who honestly sounded like the same dude. got a call earlier from some call centre claiming they wanted to renew my home appliance insurance. they asked about the model names and a policy number i had no clue about. thing is, ive never actually signed up for any cover like this, so it’s definitely a cheeky scam. steer clear of these lot!

Got a call from 02843843014, Newcastle, Co. Down, but it was just an automated voice from some recruitment company. I'm 78, so seriously, I don't want these calls popping up. Feels like a scam to me for sure. Recently, I've been getting calls from similar Newcastle area numbers quite often - all sound like dodgy scams or something.

Got a call from a lady who never told me who she was, saying she wanted to chat about my domestic appliance insurance. The only cover I've got is a little cover for my toaster! She wasn’t interested in that and just said they’d call me again later. Feels like it might’ve been a scam, probably trying to get my bank info. Honestly, you should never share any personal details or account info with strangers calling out of the blue, no matter what they claim. Always report these dodgy calls to the Information Commissioner’s Office through their site.
