Received a call claiming my home insurance was about to expire. I mentioned that we don’t actually have any at the moment. We ditched it after being thoroughly disappointed by DA. Saved quite a bit in the process! 🙂

I've got this feature on my phone that tells me who's calling, so when this number rang I hung up right away 'cause no one said a thing or left a voicemail. I've gone ahead and blocked it now.

Since these callers are just trying to trick you out of money by feeding lies, I like to mess with them by giving nonsense info back. It usually ends up being pretty funny and honestly, it’s quite satisfying to annoy them and kill some time.

True Caller blocked this number straight away, displaying "Unknown caller / Whisper / Ended the call when being checked". Pretty sure it was some kind of robocall.

Got a call from someone saying they were renewing my home insurance, but it was a scam for sure. When I asked them simple questions about a policy that doesn't even exist, they just couldn’t answer and soon gave up. Just knowing your name and address doesn’t mean much these days, since it’s not that hard for scammers to find that info through different ways.

Got a call from some bloke named Daniel saying he was from a home appliance insurance company, claimed he was in Brighton. Weirdly enough, he started talking about my late mum’s info. Really threw me off.

What really creeped me out about this home insurance scam was that they had my name and address, making them super convincing. They even tried to get my sort code from me, which I refused. Seriously, be careful with this one - it's pretty scary.

Yesterday evening they rang right in the middle of our tea, claiming to be from Domestic and General about appliance insurance. Since we don’t have any such cover with them or anyone else, my other half just told them to jog on!

I got a call about insurance for my appliances, saying the cost was going up. They asked for my sort code but refused to send any documents beforehand. I told them I don’t have any cover and don’t want it. Then they said they’d cancel my policy, even though I clearly don’t have one. Pretty obvious scam if you ask me.

Someone called about a cheaper policy, sounded really legit and asked for my bank info and even details about my household stuff. I refused to give anything, then they tried to pressure me by saying they’d cancel the new policy. Bit dodgy if you ask me!

Got a call from some insurance company, said they were "Domestic Insurance," sounded like an Asian lady on the line. I wasn’t having any of it, gave her a load of grief back. She actually called me rude and then just hung up on me! If these calls freak you out, just hang up straight away. But if you want to mess with them like I do, drag out the convo and rile them up a bit. It’s pretty funny and it’s a bonus because every minute they spend with you is time they ain’t scamming someone else.

Got a call from someone saying it was about domestic insurance… bit fishy if you ask me. I hung up, and guess what? They called right back almost straight away. Told them I already have my stuff covered by Currys, and then he was all like, “Can I have a word?” Bit cheeky if you ask me. Don’t get fooled by these types, I’m just ignoring their calls from now on.

Got a call earlier today, 30-May-2022, on my landline at roughly 12:20pm BST. Missed it, but an automated message with a woman’s voice said something like "Just a quick ring about your home appliance insurance." Thing is, I don’t have any cover like that. No company name or contact details were given either, naturally. Seems like a typical insurance scam to me.

How curious! On the very day of this phone call, a scammer used my daughter’s email to reach out to both me and my son. What a nightmare! She’s fully briefed on what’s happening, but I can’t help but wonder if this suspicious call is actually linked to the same individual. They didn’t bother to leave a message, which makes it all the more suspicious!

We've had numerous calls from this particular number on our home phone. They always drop a message on our answering machine claiming to represent an insurance firm and promise to ring back at a later date. Honestly, we just ignore them and advise others to do the same-it's not worth the bother, full stop.

My old folks have had to deal with this twice now. Last time, they ended up switching their home insurance and it caused them a lot of stress. Today, I answered the phone for them and made it clear no choices would happen on the spot. I told them to send any papers by mail instead, and they just ended the call.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from a home appliance insurance company. They kept pushing that I needed to renew an insurance I don’t even have. Said something about my fridge and washing machine needing renewal but I haven’t even owned those models in years - at least 5 or 6! I didn’t bother correcting them, just wished their mum well and hung up quick. Definitely sounds fishy to me.

I got a call from a lady, who then passed me over to a guy, some sort of manager. Both sounded like they weren’t local. When I didn’t catch what he was saying, the bloke got quite unpleasant. Got a call from a woman who kept asking for me by name. I told her I didn’t know who she was and asked her name multiple times, but she just ended the call after a bit. Not impressed, especially since I’m on the TPS list and my number’s ex-directory, so they really shouldn’t be ringing.

Somebody rang claiming to be my “Policy Advisor from Domestic Insurance.” I told them I didn’t have any policy with that company, but they kept insisting that I did, saying they could see all my bank payments. Got another call today with a different number, but it was the exact same spiel. Blocked it straight away.

I've had yet another mystery caller today, the second one in a short span. Thankfully, I've got call minder installed, so if you don't identify yourself, you're not getting past the gate. Honestly, opting for call minder was one of my best decisions!

I received a call from someone who claimed that the insurance for my washing machine, oven, and fridge-freezer had lapsed. Curious, I inquired about the brand of my washing machine, and he confidently said it was Hotpoint. However, he was totally mistaken, as that isn’t the brand I have at all, nor do I even possess a fridge-freezer! I quickly realised he was just after a fast one. So, I called him out as a scammer and hung up without a second thought.

Got a call trying to sell me insurance for my white goods. I just said I never bother with that since everything comes with a five-year warranty and should last well beyond that. She just ended the call after that.

I’ve received a call regarding home appliances, and it seems really dodgy. I'd advise you not to engage with them at all. Stay cautious!

This lady claimed it was about a domestic appliance, and since I have some insurance due for renewal, I actually believed her at first. She seemed to know a few things, but when she asked for my bank sort code, I told her to mail me the paperwork so I could look it over. She hung up pretty sharp after that, so yeah, it was definitely a scam.

Over the past few months, I’ve been getting loads of calls from different numbers all saying I have some kind of home appliance insurance, which I definitely don’t. I told them to quit bothering me and even asked to talk to a manager to get my details off their list. So far, I’ve had to report two of these numbers to the TPS because it’s getting out of hand.

I got a call today from a woman who said she would try calling later because she couldn't get hold of me regarding my home appliance insurance - which I definitely don’t have. It was hard to tell if it was a live person or just a recorded message. I just hung up to end it. Total SCAM!

Got a call from someone claiming to be Domestic & General. They told me to stop my direct debit because my appliance insurance wouldn’t go up until 2025 after paying a one-off £220 sum. When I asked what appliances I was even supposed to have insured, they couldn’t give me any details. Definitely a scam, steer clear!

Got a voicemail about some kind of appliance insurance, saying they'll try to call me again. I've heard them from loads of different numbers before, so I'm pretty sure it's just another scam.

I got a call today, 26/05/22, saying that since I hadn't filed any claims in the past year, I could get a discount and needed to update my information. After I confirmed my phone number and address, the guy said he'd be back in a few minutes. Then a different man came on, claiming he was the manager. I told him Domestic & General usually gets in touch with me through the post. He insisted it was about domestic appliances and they had to check something before sending letters. I made it clear I didn’t have any policy with them and ended the call there.

I didn't pick up and let it go to voicemail. Later, there was a message saying something like "I'll call again later," but they didn't leave their name or any number.

Some bloke rang asking for me by my name. Claimed he worked for an insurance firm and wanted to talk about a policy covering my appliances. I told him straight up that I’m not with them, I’m on the TPS list, and I don’t want any more calls. He insisted it wasn’t a cold call and kept pushing about my policy. In the end, I just told him nicely but firmly to buzz off.

Beware of those home appliance cover deals - it’s a total scam! They promise all these great protections but in the end, you get nothing really useful. I wasted money on it, so watch out!

These annoying calls just wont stop! Ive had them ringing twice today, once yesterday and the day before that too. I have an answering machine that picks up messages and shows the number if I dont answer, but still they keep on blowing up my phone. The last time I bought any white goods was like a year and a half ago, and I never got or wanted any extra warranty then or now! Its way cheaper to just buy stuff when it actually breaks, since new stuff these days lasts better and works quicker than all those old models!

Got a call from someone saying they could lower my insurance premium because I hadn’t claimed any repairs on my cooker, fridge, freezer or washing machine. Problem is, I don’t even have insurance like that! When I asked them what brand my appliances were, the caller just gave up and hung up. Felt really dodgy to me - smells like a total scam. Watch out, folks!

Got a voicemail today from someone who wouldn’t say who they were, just that there was some issue with my home appliance cover. Thing is, I don’t even have insurance on my stuff, so pretty sure this was just a scam. Lately, I’ve had loads of calls like this from all sorts of numbers. Since all my lines are on the Telephone Preference Service list, I just reckon every unsolicited call I get is dodgy. Honestly, I’ve never had a genuine cold caller ring me up. Do proper, honest cold calls even exist?

I received a call from a woman with a distinctly British accent, claiming she was keen to offer my father a discount on his appliance insurance. The thing is, my dad has been gone since 2013. Quite astonishing, really!

Got a call from 02843843024, and they were asking for me by name. I quickly realised it was one of those dodgy domestic appliance scams. I’ve made sure to block the number since then.
