The call began with silence but soon a man with a strong accent came on, claiming he was from the tech support team regarding my computer. When I told him I wasn’t falling for any scams, he got quite defensive. It was tricky to make out what he was saying, though he kept calling me ‘madam’. After I asked him to repeat himself several times, he just ended the call on me!

Received a call from a chap with a foreign accent who went rather quiet on the line before ringing me up again this morning. He was inquiring about my computer and, when I asked which operating system I was on, he mistakenly said Windows - quite amusing, really! Naturally, we wrapped up the conversation after that. Had a few calls like this earlier today. One chap had such a heavy accent, no way he was based here in the UK. The usual spiel about some kind of alert and virus on my router popped up, saying I could verify it on their website. He claimed to be from [#]techhelp[###] or something similar, but his accent was so thick I could barely catch a word. He said his name was James! Definitely got narked when I didn’t fall for it and wouldn’t let him near my computer. I’ve blocked the number, but they keep switching to new ones. Total scam operation, same old nonsense.

A woman with an Asian accent rang me up, claiming she wanted to assist me in erasing some pesky files that were causing a nuisance on my computer’s performance. She commenced a lengthy explanation, attempting to guide me to my device. Meanwhile, I was engrossed in a game, so I simply placed the phone on the bed and let her ramble on. Just got a call from 02476 685 524 at about 10:57 this morning on 6/6/2019. Funny thing is, I had already got a call a few minutes before from some unknown number. That caller sounded really foreign and had such a thick accent I couldn't catch what they were saying, so I just told them that and they hung up. But this new call, as soon as I answered it, the line went dead. Proper irritating! I'm registered with the Telephone Preference Service but it's useless if you don't know who's behind the call.
