I usually tell them if they ring me again I’ll be charging them £10 a minute for my time. A mate of mine does this too and has been paid twice by using the small claims court - one was about £190 plus costs and the other around £230 plus costs. From what I’ve heard, the courts actually back you up if it’s a persistent hassle.

Got another ring from these muppets (TNS) at 8.57pm on a Friday, even though my number’s unlisted and I’m on the TPS. Did a quick search and found a couple of emails to send a sharp, no-nonsense complaint to - feel free to give them a piece of your mind too! [email protected] (quality complaints contact) and [email protected] (info security & quality team) Also flagged them up to the ICO and TPS, but I’m not holding my breath - those lot usually don’t bother cracking down on companies like TNS spamming folk without permission.

Plus, I've also been getting calls from loads of others like 01613806125, 01613806120, 01613800243, 01613806121, 01613800242, 01613806134, 01613806133, and 01613806123. All these were over the last week alone. Most of the 0161 numbers keep ringing my mobile, which I can just ignore easily enough. It’s weird though, I’ve never been this swamped with annoying calls before, all at once like this. When I spoke to the bloke on the 020 number, I told him I was gonna report them, but clearly, loads of people have done that already because it hasn’t stopped them at all.

Had a few calls from someone saying they’re doing some kind of research. This was the third time in a matter of weeks. The questions were a bit strange at first, so I just said I wasn’t interested and hung up. They kept ringing from a number that’s not even listed anywhere, hardly anyone would have it. When I asked how they found my number, they just said it was picked randomly. Bit odd if you ask me.
