We don't use BT, but our Panasonic phone lets you block certain numbers, so if they ring, it just says the number can't be reached. Might be something to check out!

This number rings me quite often, and most of the time I just let it go to voicemail. Today I answered it by accident since I wasn’t wearing my specs. A very polite woman came on the line asking if I could take part in a TMS survey or somethin’ like that. She said it was linked to a government project about exercise habits. Honestly, the only exercise I get is running to the phone after so many annoying calls daily! I told her nicely that I don't usually do phone surveys. She thanked me and said goodbye. At least her accent wasn’t some foreign one I couldn’t make out!

They only handle legit marketing numbers that have already been confirmed, and even then, all they do is contact the company on your behalf and ask nicely to take your details off their calling list. You need to tell them exactly what the caller is trying to push. But if it’s a scammer fishing for personal info, TPS doesn’t cover this at all. So, signing up with TPS is pointless because they have very limited power, and complaining might even give fraudsters more info about you. This number rings me constantly, mornings, evenings, even Sundays. They’re definitely scammers. Since I’m not with BT, I haven’t got any way to block these calls.

The TPS can't stop scam calls. They only handle confirmed marketing calls (not scammy researchers) by giving your details to the company and kindly asking them to take you off their list. You have to tell them what the caller is selling first. Fake callers trying to steal info aren’t covered. So signing up with TPS is pointless, as their "authority" is basically useless, and complaining might just give scammers more info about you. This number rings me all day and well into the evening, even on Sundays. They’re fraudsters. Since I’m not with BT, I can't block these calls at all.

When I pressed her on where they got my number, she just muttered it was from some government agency. They wanted all sorts of info about my health and exercise habits, but I told them I’d never share personal details over the phone. I also said that if it really was a government survey, they’d send it by letter or post it properly on GOV.uk, not call me randomly. They insisted it’d be on the site eventually - total nonsense! This is just a scam from T&N or TRN Healthcare, some dodgy outfit trying to sell rubbish products online. Best thing to do? Just hang up immediately!

He called saying it was a government survey and asked if I’d answer a few quick questions, which I agreed to. But then he started asking how many adults lived here, then suddenly wanted to speak to my husband to make sure the sample was right. I told him my husband wasn’t around and asked if my answers were enough, but he insisted on calling back later to talk to him. That’s when I said I thought it’d be a quick chat, told him no, he couldn’t ring again, and hung up. What kind of survey needs to chat to every adult anyway? Felt fishy to me, especially how hurried and awkward the intro was. I think the company was something like T and N Research or similar.
