I received a call from an automated system claiming to be the National Insurance fraud department of HMRC. Subsequently, I was connected to a woman who began probing for a lot of personal information, which I wisely refused to divulge. When I informed her that I was a police officer and that our conversation was being recorded, she hastily ended the call. Please, do not share any of your details with these people; if it were genuinely HMRC, they would have sent you a letter instructing you on how to get in touch. This is a definite scam, so remain vigilant!

As countless others have pointed out, it appears that the individual connected to this and other similar numbers goes by the name of Stuart Wright, residing at 21A Plymouth Road, Barnt Green, Birmingham, B45 8JF. His date of birth is listed as 19th January 1965. It's hardly shocking that he enjoys a rather lavish lifestyle, complete with a sizeable home and a flashy vehicle, all while continuing to con unsuspecting victims!
