Got a call from someone saying they were with HMRC, but it was obvious a scam. They were pushing for personal info, definitely trying to trick me. Be careful, folks!

I got a call accusing me of tax evasion but it was all over the place and didn’t really add up. They kept rushing and threatening to arrest me, which felt so sketchy. There was loads of loud background noise, which made it sound unprofessional. Oddly, they only mentioned recording the call halfway through, not at the beginning like they should have. They just threw around fake threats that didn’t make any sense or seem legit at all.

These scammers pretended to be HMRC and managed to steal £1800 from my 19 year olds bank account. They tried to frighten her by saying the police would be involved. She's completely lost all the savings she had built up through hard work. Truly horrible people. Please don’t let these fraudsters pressure or scare you like this.
