I received a rather alarming call threatening me with arrest. The caller insisted that I owe £1500 in unpaid taxes from previous years. They appeared to have originated from another number at +44 7438201860 before switching to this one. Quite a distressing experience, I must say!

020 7947 6096 rang me sayin I was dodging the police but I’m only 17 and don’t even pay tax. Me and my mates had a good laugh about it and then they just cut the call. Proper scary stuff for anyone who might actually fall for that.

I got a call from this number saying I’d been involved in tax fraud and there was an arrest warrant out for me. They insisted I needed to ring a criminal solicitor immediately to sort it out. Then they asked for £480 upfront before they could do anything. While talking to them, I quickly looked the number up and found loads of warnings saying it was dodgy. When I told the guy that, he got really angry, started yelling at me and even threatened to come after me!

Got a call from someone claiming to be from the Court of Appeal Civil Division. They told me there’s a criminal case against me for tax evasion and that there’s an arrest warrant out. Then they asked for over £1000 to sort it all out before it goes to court. Sounded pretty dodgy to me.

This afternoon, I received a call from a chap with an Indian accent claiming to be an officer from HMRC. He alleged that I was under investigation for tax evasion and could potentially face legal action. It didn’t take long for me to figure out it was a scam, so I promptly ended the call. Absolutely no details were shared!

Like many others mentioned here, I got a call with an Indian accent claiming to be from HMRC. They said I owed close to £1000 from a few years ago. When I tried to get a reference number for the case, they couldn’t give me one. They insisted I had to pay right away or I'd be facing jail time. I asked for more info or a proper HMRC contact number, but the caller just kept pressuring me to pay. After looking up the number online, I realised it was a scam and ended the call straight away.

Today, I received a rather dubious phone call from a gentleman sporting a thick accent that sounded Indian or Pakistani. He claimed to be working for HMRC and proceeded to inform me that I was under investigation for tax evasion. He went so far as to insinuate that a lawsuit could be looming over me, even mentioning the dreaded prospect of prison time! It’s clearly a scam, folks. Don’t be intimidated by these tactics-tell them to shove it just as I did!

Got a really dodgy call from someone pretending to be HMRC. They didn’t even get my name right or have any of my info. I put the phone on speaker and the lady got quite rude, so I ended up hanging up. No calls since then though. The numbers they rang from were 0151 143 9923 and later 020 7947 6096. Quite unsettling, honestly.

I received a rather alarming phone call from the same London numbers, 02079476096 and 02076316675. They were insisting that I pay £1998 immediately, or face arrest and have my belongings confiscated. To add to the pressure, they claimed that should I challenge this, I'd require a criminal solicitor, and the potential cost if I were to lose could reach £20,000! I expressed my distress to them and mentioned needing to seek some guidance. When I inquired about the possibility of calling them back after I'd consulted someone, they agreed, then simply hung up. I've since reported this matter to HMRC.

Got a call today saying I had to press 1 or else I'd be arrested. I pressed 1 and some guy with an Indian accent started talking about a tax case against me. Really aggressive and scary tone, then the call just dropped. Asked around with mates and turns out it's a scam, loads of people getting the same call. Proper irritating, especially with everything going on with Covid and the stress we already have.

I got a call from a woman named Christine Williams claiming to be some kind of officer about me owing £2000 in unpaid taxes. She asked if I'd prefer to sort it out without going to court or if I want to get a solicitor involved after they supposedly arrest me and seize my papers. They were even using what seemed like a government office phone number. Honestly, the government really needs to step in and protect people from this. I feel totally scammed by these lot.

The guy was Indian and got proper annoyed when I told him I have no clue what he was talking about, like about not paying tax or being self-employed. At first, it freaked me out a bit, but now I’m just really annoyed with the whole thing!

These fraudsters have somehow got into the HMRC’s main phone lines, so when they ring you, it’s the same number showing up on your caller ID. This bloke told me he’d ring back on Monday, and said his shift finished at 3pm on Saturday. After spotting other reports about this number, I’m definitely going to block it. I’m certain all my tax stuff is sorted, so I’m even thinking about changing my phone number. Absolute lowlifes, proper scumbags, just terrible people. It’s genuinely shocking.

Pretty much the same nonsense as others mentioned, saying I owed HMRC about £2,000 and had to cough it up straight away on the phone or risk getting nicked, going to court, and even jail! Of course, I didn’t fall for it and ended up informing the police about the whole thing :)

I received a call not too long ago with an almost identical scenario. The chap claimed to be working for HMRC and warned me that I'd be facing arrest, but he didn't actually elaborate on the details. I had a call from someone claiming to be from HMRC saying there was a fraud case about tax evasion filed against me and asked if I had a criminal lawyer. Got a call earlier today from this number after I had a really unclear call from 01177107698. Definitely one of those HMRC scams! For a bit I was confused since my family recently had some problems with HMRC because of a wrong date entered somewhere. I received calls from the numbers 02079476096 and 02076316675 recently. The caller claimed that there was a criminal investigation regarding tax evasion from HMRC, and they pressured me to settle the matter over the phone to avoid further complications. Be cautious, as the chap was rather insistent and appeared to have a good grasp of the situation. It sounded like a well-organised setup, as I could discern other calls taking place in the background. I've since forwarded the details to the fraud prevention team and flags have been raised with HMRC.
