Got a call today from 020 7946 2012 - I've been getting loads of calls from numbers like this before (020 7946 1852 and 020 7946 1943 were the last ones). They all have the same area code but different endings. The person on the line said, ‘I heard you was in a car accident that wasn’t your fault,’ and when I said no, they just ended the call straight away. I’ve blocked the number but I reckon they'll just switch to a new one and keep trying this scam.

I've just had yet another call from a chap claiming to be "John" from Microsoft, insisting there’s an issue with my computer. The moment I started to question him about whether his name was genuinely John and if he was really affiliated with Microsoft, the line suddenly went dead. Someone rang me asking about a car crash I was supposedly in. I decided to play along a bit: said yeah, I was in one. They then asked for the dates and how many people got hurt. I answered but told them, surely if they’re calling about this accident, they should already have some info. When I mentioned there were 10 people in the car and we all got hurt from scoffing too much chocolate and had loads of small bumps, they just ended the call.

Very odd, I had a call earlier tonight but wasn’t quick enough to answer. When I tried to call back, my phone kept saying “sorry, wrong number, please check the number and try again.” I kept trying to call the number again and again but it’s a normal London landline and no calls seem to get through!
