Today, I received a rather sinister call from this number, with a woman on the line claiming that I was facing prosecution over tax fraud. It was all very alarming, but I quickly realised it was nothing more than a despicable scam. I've since blocked the number because it's clear that they are definitely not the HMRC!

Got a call today at 11:22 from this number, left a voicemail claiming it was HMRC. The message said to call back or else there’d be trouble. It wasn’t a real person talking, sounded like one of those robot voices. Definitely looks like a scam to me.

An American sounding woman left a recorded message, all threatening about HMRC and saying to call back or there'd be trouble. I just blocked the number right away.

About an hour back I missed a call and decided to check the voicemail just now. The message said it was Officer Dennis Grey from HMRC, saying I needed to get in touch with him or my lawyer urgently or else there would be legal trouble. Total scam, nothing like how HMRC operates. Best to just ignore and watch out for this one.
