someone rang saying they were from bt open reach claiming they could lower my bill. i told them i actually pay ee, not bt, and they started going on about how i didn’t get it and got quite rude. i said a proper company wouldn’t talk to me like that and ended the call. then, just a couple of minutes later, they phoned back, repeating how i didn’t understand. i asked them straight up if they worked for ee and they said no. then they actually started laughing at me, which was the final straw so i hung up again. this was on my landline, not my mobile.

this bloke called me and tried saying he had my name right but he totally butchered it, then went on about how my phone bill would drop to about eleven quid a month. i told him he was most definitely trying to scam me and just ended the call.

I got a call from 02045 204447 and there was this automatic message in an American accent saying the number isn’t in service, but you can barely make out some company name in the background. When I called back, a recorded voice with a weird, unclear name said something about sales and marketing. Could be legit, but honestly, I’d be careful as it smells a bit like a scam or some kind of fraud.

Got a call today where they wanted to speak to the 'business owner'. Told them it was just a personal number. Then they tried saying it had something to do with my phone line. I didn’t hang around and just blocked the number straight away. Whenever they ask for some random person or a company, it’s almost certainly a scam, in my experience.

I got a call from this number but when I answered there was no one there, just some weird clicking noises like a machine or something, then it just dropped. I get loads of calls from abroad trying to pitch cheap energy plans :/ so I'm guessing this one was dodgy too - I've gone ahead and blocked it now.
