The call quality was dreadful. There was a cacophony of background noise that made it difficult to focus. The individual on the other end had a distinct Indian accent, leading me to suspect they were phoning from a call centre. I decided to cut this unwelcome and unsolicited conversation short without much ado.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from Currys Mobile - not sure that’s a real service? They asked if I wanted to upgrade my phone. The caller had a strong Indian accent and there was a lot of noise in the background, making it tough to understand them. When I questioned where they got my number from, they just ended the call straight away.

Some bloke rang me saying he was from Carphone Warehouse, but his accent was sharp and definitely not Indian. I told him I was busy at work and couldn’t chat about any sales stuff then. He just said alright and hung up. Seeing others here say similar calls but from different firms, I reckon this is probably a scam. Hope this helps someone out.

Got a call from someone claiming to be Harry at O2, telling me I could get half off my bill for a whole year. Then he sent me a text with a code and asked me to say it back. I just hung up after that.

The call was pretty confusing, with a lot of noise in the background and the person had an Asian accent. I never requested a call from them anyway, so I just blocked the number.

Years ago, I contacted Bloomberg as a developer to set up an academic account, which required my mobile number along with my email. Not long after, I heard they had a data breach affecting their client info. Ever since, I’ve been getting calls from scam forex trading firms using bogus UK numbers. Some of these companies are based in Cyprus, others in the UK - some are even genuine businesses, but most aren’t. I reckon they must have somehow obtained Bloomberg’s client list. Honestly, it’s best not to answer these calls; nothing good ever comes from engaging with them.

Got a call from someone saying they were Sam, but the line was terrible, really poor connection. The number looked like it was from London but I reckon it was spoofed and coming from somewhere abroad. It’s really easy to fake these numbers now. I couldn’t understand much of what Sam was trying to say, so he just ended the call after a bit. It seemed like he said "Sam from autoelectric" or something like that. Definitely one of those typical scam calls.
