People calling from unknown numbers really ought to say who they are, but of course, no message was left this time. Judging by these comments, this looks like yet another massive data leak from TalkTalk. The last couple of breaches were major, with sensitive details like account numbers being handed over to scammers operating out of Indian call centres. This definitely needs to be reported to Action Fraud immediately. Never let anyone take remote control of your PC. Honestly, it's safest just not to pick up these calls at all - these fraudsters are a proper danger.

Got a call from a bloke who said he was Brendan, claiming to be from TalkTalk security. I wasn’t convinced straight away and told him so. Then he goes, "You have to trust me, madam!" I asked him to prove it by telling me my name and the number he dialled me from. He refused, saying it was confidential, then just hung up. Definitely a scam, watch out!

Some bloke named Andrew from India rang me saying someone was stealing my TalkTalk internet. Since I don’t even have TalkTalk, I asked why my own provider (didn't say which one) hadn't gotten in touch first. He got proper angry when I wouldn’t answer his questions and then just hung up on me! I thought it was funny how worked up he got. Just to be sure, I reached out to my actual provider who told me it was definitely a scam. If I had played along, he would’ve soon asked for my bank info under the guise of ‘verifying’ stuff.
