Strangely enough, they then rang my landline, purporting to discuss loft insulation and insisting it required an inspection. I informed them that my landlord handles all such matters, and just like that, they abruptly ended the call! How bizarre!

Got a call earlier from someone called Alex using the number 02045162755. He said he was from Medical Alert and kept insisting that if I’m aged between 50 and 80, I could get a medical alert pendant. When I asked who gave him my number and who exactly he was trying to reach, he just cut off the call straight away.

I usually just ignore calls from numbers I don’t know, cause they always seem to hang up as soon as the answerphone picks up. On the rare chance I do pick up and it’s some dodgy call, I start speaking terrible French and they quickly quit. Caller ID is a lifesaver for spotting these nuisance calls. Don’t let these muppets catch you out, stay sharp!

Got a call from a bloke asking if I owned the house and whether I'd used the old government loft insulation scheme. I asked him straight up where he got my number, and he claimed it was from some sort of green renewable government list. I pressed him a bit more and he stumbled over his answers, seemed a bit dodgy. Told him we probably wouldn’t be interested anyway, as we’re actually in the middle of moving, then he just dropped the call.

Absolutely a scam, got the exact same spiel from Alex about some medical alert pendant. He kept going on about it being free, only a small monthly fee of about £30 maintenance or something. I made it clear I don't entertain dodgy or annoying calls and just ended the call straight away. Just like everyone else has said here, total rip-off.

Got a call from 020-4516-2755 the other day. The person on the phone asked how old I was and said I might be able to get a Medical Pendant that alerts someone if I have a fall or emergency. He went on about all the benefits but when I asked him to give me the number he was calling from, he just dropped the call. Felt like some kind of scam, although the guy spoke very nicely and seemed genuine. Just a heads up, watch out for calls like this.
