I keep getting calls from loads of random numbers I don’t recognise, so I usually just don’t pick up.

Got a really annoying call just now.

I posted a remark here just yesterday and now I've been inundated with calls from the 02054 162 range, followed by 755, 743, 760, and 756. Clearly, it’s the same bunch of scammers at work. Thank goodness for Caller ID; it’s been a lifesaver!

I got a call from this young bloke who was pretty direct and just wouldn’t hear me out at all.

Got a call from a really polite bloke chatting about how folks in my area were having problems with damp after getting insulation put in. Normally I wouldn’t have answered, but I wasn't wearing my glasses and was waiting for a call. I just told him cheers but no thanks, said I don’t have any damp here and the house is pretty old anyway.

02045162752 called but hung up before saying anything, left me wondering who it was.

There’s this bloke called Chris who rings me almost every week, always banging on about energy saving and claiming my place has some fluffy insulation stuff, which he says is from a government survey. It’s a load of rubbish if you ask me. Honestly, can’t the police step in and sort this out?

Got a call from some bloke saying I was picked for a free driveway makeover as part of a show home deal. Problem is, I live in a flat on the tenth floor with no driveway at all! Told him that and he just hung up straight away. Would’ve been funny to go along with it though.

I’m signed up with the TPS yet this number keeps ringing me with unwanted calls. I’ve started screening all of them, and usually when I don't pick up and it goes to voicemail, they just hang up. Total scam, really annoying.

Some bloke called Chris rang me up about an issue with my loft insulation and said he could book an inspection. I kept telling him he didn’t know who I was or where I lived. When he asked me to spell my name, I just asked why on earth he was calling if he didn’t even know that. In the end, he just hung up without realising I live in a flat with no loft at all. Guess it was a bit amusing and killed a few minutes, but honestly, it’s a shame people fall for this kinda scam and they never seem to stop doing it.

A polite gentleman rang up claiming I qualified for a 'medical alert gadget'. I wasn’t so sure, so I asked where he was calling from - he said Dorset, yet the number was a London one. I told him I would only deal with my local NHS centre and hung up. Seems like they might try to dig deeper though. I worry this kind of trick could catch the more vulnerable out. [Still no news on the loft insulation! Are they spoofing the caller IDs?]

So, I got a call from a bloke named Tom about roof insulation. He’s rung me up three times today already. The first time I told him not to bother, then when he called again, I said I wasn’t the homeowner and he hung up straight away. It sounds dodgy to me, especially since he kept going on about sending someone to check out our loft. Pretty sure it’s some kind of scam.

Today I got a call but didn’t pick up since a similar number rang last week. When I answered then, they said I qualified for some medical equipment.

Over the last couple of years, I’ve gotten around 10 calls from a guy who switches his name between Tom and Chris. This time, he was ringing about loft insulation again. Quite persistent, to say the least.

I keep getting calls from this bloke who uses names like ‘Ben’, ‘Chris’, or ‘Patrick’ - all totally made up, very dodgy. Honestly, just don’t bother talking to him, best thing is to hang up straight away. The weird thing is he constantly switches phone numbers, don’t know how he manages to get away with it. It’s really frustrating that the police don’t seem to be doing anything about it. Proper let down.

Got a call supposedly about the loft insulation, said the stuff we have now was making our place damp. Then out of nowhere, he starts asking how old we are. I just ended the call straight away.

I got a call from some bloke called Chris or something, claiming to be from an energy firm. He asked if I had that old yellow insulation in my loft and pushed this free survey where "experts" would pop round to check things. Turns out it's just a sneaky way to try and get you to buy useless energy gadgets you really don't need. Used to be down near the coast, but now they’re operating out of South West London. Total scam, watch out!

A rather articulate gentleman rang me to say that I qualify for a 'medical alert device.' Really? I inquired about the origin of his call, and he claimed to be from Dorset, despite the obvious London number flashing on my phone. Deciding it was best to end the conversation, I mentioned that I would only deal with my local medical practice. I suspect a bit more investigation might unveil the truth behind this. Scenarios like these could easily ensnare those who are more susceptible.

I picked up the phone, but there was absolutely no one on the line.

I allowed this call to divert to my voicemail; there was a brief delay before it disconnected without leaving a message. It’s clearly a scam of some description. I’d advise against answering it.
