Got a call from 07380796617 earlier today, telling me my NI number was gonna be cancelled cos of crime and that I'd be arrested if I didn’t press 1. They hung up quick. Felt worried so rang it back this evening, it just rang and then a normal person answered with a simple hello. I’ve blocked the number now. Really don’t recommend picking up if it rings you!

This is absolutely bonkers, got a dodgy robot voice message saying my NI number’s been used in a crime and will be shut down! Even though HMRC can be a pain sometimes, there’s no way they’d go about it like this. Best just hang up and have a chuckle about it.
