Had a call from someone in India asking for my personal info, but I wasn’t having any of it and told them it sounded like a scam. They rang me two times but I just hung up both times. It’s really annoying how these people act just like the dodgiest scammers before they even send you a letter. I went straight to HMRC myself to sort this out. No way would I trust or use that number again.

I received one of those pre-recorded calls, supposedly from a chap named Mr Dennis Grey at Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs. They were quite insistent that I'd need to get in touch straight away or face some sort of official repercussions. Quite alarming, to say the least!

On the 17th of March, I received a rather disconcerting automated voicemail from this number, claiming that 'she' was a representative of HMRC.
