This number has called me a couple of times today. Every time I pick up, they hang up after around ten seconds without saying a word. From what I’ve seen in past reviews, it’s likely some survey company. Someone called me yesterday too, and I didn’t bother doing the survey because usually after that, you get bombarded with calls trying to sell you service plans for your TV, washing machine, or even will writing. Feels like they might be getting back at me or maybe trying to reach someone else in the house.

What really gets on their nerves is when you complete their survey using a made-up name and bogus answers. Then at the end, you tell them they can only reach you by post. Even if you answer honestly, they just invent stuff anyway. I've never owned any pets (landlord bans it) yet I keep getting calls for that fake name from pet insurance firms! I've also had loads of scammers ringing about the same fake name; mostly claiming there's a computer virus or some fake government grant cash.

From what others have said, it sounds like a fake survey designed to trick you into joining so they can sell your info to other marketers, assuming you’ll play along. I’m curious how they even got my name though. It feels really invasive, so I’d class these calls as annoying at the least, but “harassing” fits better out of the choices.

I have a strong suspicion that some well-known retailers are peddling our personal information to this phone number, or perhaps they’ve fallen victim to a breach. In the past three years, I received absolutely no bothersome calls on my home phone that had any familiarity with my name. However, after sharing my details with Currys/PC World, the nuisance calls began pouring in! These callers are using my name, and given that I'm on the ex-directory list, it’s clear that the only entity holding both my name and number is Currys! I keep getting these calls claiming to be from People's Opinion UK, always from a woman with a voice that sounds either Indian or Pakistani. The first handful of times I answered, I asked them nicely to take my number off their list, but to no avail. So today, I decided to give them a piece of my mind using some choice words I usually reserve for builders (let's see if that does the trick!). I just had to give them a call back, as I absolutely refuse to pick up during this time of day (between 1 and 3 pm). It's quite the usual peak for these sorts of calls, isn’t it? Well, upon ringing them up-what a shock-I was met with a rather predictable answerphone recording outlining their business. They also had the audacity to request that I leave my name and number if I wish to be taken off their list. So, I promptly left a message saying, “Look, we both know you already possess my number, so there's no way I’m divulging my name. Just for your records, my number is (as you already know) 0170 _ _ _ _ _ _ 5. Kindly remove it, if you please. Thank you.” I’m quite certain this will quell the calls for now, yet I can’t shake the uneasy feeling that my details may have been shared with other firms. I can almost bet that come tomorrow, at the same hour, another pesky company will be ringing me. How infuriating!

What a right botheration! This chap wouldn't stop nagging me about some survey he claimed I needed to fill out. I tried to be courteous and turned him down a couple of times, but he just wouldn't relent! In the end, I had no choice but to sever the call. Really frustrating, especially since, like many others, my number isn't even listed.

It’s risky for older folks since they might fall for these tech scams! I usually just humour them, then mess about a bit. I’ve set up my phone so I can hit buttons labelled with rude stuff and silly noises to send back. You should try putting on a super annoying tune and blasting it at them! Have a laugh with it - if you can’t stop them, just wind them up!

02037515747 - These folks are defo not calling from London. They’re either spoofing the number or got it from some dodgy telecom firms. So TPS can't do a thing about them. If you pick up, they know it’s a live number and will sell it on to other scammy lot. Best thing is to get caller ID and grab a call blocker like the BT8500 to block them. I’ve blocked numbers starting with 0203, 0207, 0208, and 0002 using the BT8500. (Luckily, don’t know anyone from London myself.) Spam and scam calls went from nearly 8 daily to maybe 1 or 2 a week now, and I block as they come one by one.

Got a message from this number on my answerphone. A lady said hello two times, then something like [email protected] off, followed by some words I couldn’t really hear properly. This happened on 13/4/2015.

Got a call from this number earlier, they wanted me to take a survey or something. I just ended the call quick, this number is really starting to annoy me!

At first there was nothing but then the typical call centre murmur started up. I caught a faint 'hello?' before I just hung up. And all this on a Bank Holiday Monday too!

This number has rung me four times already today. I ended up losing my temper and gave them a mouthful. Got a phone now that lets me block callers, but it only holds up to 50 blocked numbers, so I reckon it won’t sort out the problem forever. Thinking about ditching my landline altogether and just sticking to my mobile instead.

Today I got a ring from a woman asking for me. The voice sounded familiar like she'd called previously. I told her I wasn't available and then just hung up. Definitely one of those annoying nuisance calls.

I picked up the phone around 12:30pm and there was just dead silence on the other end. No one speaking or anything. Very strange.

It's a guy, Asian I think, who just won't take no for an answer. I picked up once and ever since he keeps calling every single day, sometimes twice. I just ignore now. He even called at 7.10am one morning and sometimes rings really late at night too.

I don't pick up when this number calls as I'm not sure who they are and it feels like a scam or some sales call. They ring both my landline and my mobile, and I never share my home number with anyone. This number calls a couple of times daily on both phones, been going on for more than two weeks now. They’ll ring my house then straight away my mobile. My advice - don't pick up, who knows if they’re trying to charge you for the call or something!

I got a call about doing a survey and then they said some ‘relevant’ companies would contact me. It was that typical Asian accent from a call centre you can spot a mile off. I just told them I wasn't interested and hung up straight away.

Got a call from a bloke with an accent, kept firing off loads of questions. I hung up but they just kept calling back nonstop.

I've been polite about ten times now asking this survey lot to take my number and name off their list, but they just keep ringing. Next time they call, I reckon I'll just stay silent and give a loud whistle instead. Maybe that'll get the message across!

I'm absolutely fed up with these annoying phone calls! If there's any way to put an end to this madness, I would greatly appreciate it!
