Honestly, the folks in charge of phone scams really need to put a stop to those Indian and Asian call centres ringing up people here in the UK. They never give their real names, always some fake John or whatever, and they’re just full of lies trying to scam info out of you. If you get a call from a number you don’t know, just hang up as soon as you hear that annoying, ramadamadumplings sort of voice.

V4 Telecom are absolute crooks, preying on elderly people. A neighbour of mine answered a call from them, signed up, then cancelled within a week. They kept telling him he couldn’t cancel. He has no contract, no emails, nothing in writing at all. No letters from them either. They’re claiming he signed for their “router,” but he hasn’t received anything. Now they’re demanding £300 for cancelling. If that ain’t a proper scam, I don’t know what is. Charging for nothing at all, no goods, no service. Ridiculous!

Scammers pretending to be from BT called my elderly mum and ended up conning her out of £300. They even got debt collectors involved, despite BT assuring her she shouldn’t pay as it was a fraud.

Got a call from 02476681770, some V4 Telecom lot, pushing their sales real hard, almost too much. They claimed their service was brilliant but it turns out it's all a bit dodgy, felt almost scammy to me. Told them I’d think about it and check out other options before signing up, so am waiting on them to ring back tomorrow. Just from looking at online reviews, I think I narrowly escaped getting ripped off.

They went after my elderly mum, getting her locked into a 2 year contract but never delivering the minimum promised speeds. After loads of complaints, I tried getting in touch with the customer service director but no replies to calls or emails. Now I've had to escalate the issue to the ombudsman. Really rubbish customer service - best to stay clear.

This company V4telecom (actually abi business services ltd trading as v4telecom) is part owned by Indians and they act like proper cowboys. They put pressure on old folks like my mum to buy stuff and then make it really hard for them to cancel. Their service is rubbish, all the staff are in India and they seem to lie about nearly everything. Watch out - it’s a complete rip-off.

I got a call from 01255436592 today, apparently from that V4 company, claiming they could lower my Talk Talk bill a lot. Thankfully, I realised they weren’t including the TV in the deal. After seeing loads of bad reviews here and elsewhere, it felt good to just stop the chat early. Still, I’m really let down by Talk Talk as well.

Got a ring earlier from a bloke with an Indian accent, offering me 300 free minutes per month anytime. At first, I thought it was from my current provider, so I was quite happy. But then he asked for my name, and I said if he’s my supplier, he should already know it. He got a bit annoyed and rude, probably realising I was winding him up. So I told him my name was ‘bugger off’, and he hung up! Ha! Us older folks aren’t to be messed with, more like wise old hens than silly chicks.

This company keeps ringing me up about a supposedly great deal on line rental and call bundles. I told the salesperson I’d get in touch once I’d made up my mind and to stop calling, but the calls never stopped. After reading through other reviews, I reckon it’s probably safer to go with a bigger, trusted provider even if it costs a bit more - there seem to be way too many problems reported here.

They actually seem like a legit company, not a scam, but their ethics are really rubbish and the customer support is terrible because the people in charge clearly don't understand anything about telecoms.

V4 called me and at first I thought it was BT, which was a bit misleading. Then I found out it was actually another telecom firm, and they were really pushy with their sales pitch. After about 20 minutes, I was getting annoyed and asked what their call was actually about, since I’d been tricked into believing they were from BT. When the guy, Brandon Cooper, asked for my info, I said no and told him I’d check out V4 online first and call back if interested. Finding this site has made me want to warn others about V4’s aggressive sales tactics - watch out!

They’re using a different number now, 0247 693 7056 - same deal as before, trying to get you to switch your contract with cheaper line rental and gear. Sounds great but honestly, if it’s too good to be true, it probably is.

I signed up with V4 after a call from their sales team. At first, they were a bit persistent, which was a bit annoying. But since switching over, the support crew at V4telecom have been really top notch. I had some issues with my internet and one of their staff sorted it out quickly and professionally. Honestly, I don’t regret moving to them at all. My old provider never gave me service this good.

Jim Watson from V4, sounded Indian, was really pushy about getting us to sign up. He was super reluctant to send over the info about their deal. Kept asking for our direct debit details which made me wary. We decided to hold back and looked up reviews on V4 telecom, loads of bad feedback popped up, so we just declined and ended the call.

V4 TELECOM, what a joke. My mum had a terrible time with TalkTalk, so when this bloke Mathew, who sounded very Indian, said £12 bill - I thought great! But after the call ended the bill jumped to £23 plus £15 for postage. They ended up ripping off nearly £100 from my mum. I'm on their case now, got them stumbling over their words. Even though they stole over £30 unfairly, they reckon a measly £25 "goodwill gesture" is okay. No way - absolute scammers. I'm not letting these muppets get away with it.

I got a call from a lady speaking with an Indian accent, offering me a deal cheaper than what BT had. When I showed some interest, she handed me over to her manager, who also sounded Indian. They rang me claiming to be from TalkTalk with some exclusive deal for over 50s, saying my bill would drop from £35 to £23 for line rental, unlimited calls and really fast broadband. I got a call from a bloke in India trying to sell me a cheaper phone line rental. He said he was from V4, which seemed a bit dodgy, so I just ended the call. What really worries me is that he actually knew I was with BT and even how much I pay for my line rental. Feels like BT might be handing out personal info, which surely shouldn’t be allowed? Definitely makes me question their data security.

Hey, I’m an accounts manager at V4 Telecom, so I get that we do cold calls, but honestly, we’re not trying to scam anyone. A few years ago, I worked as a telecaller at another firm and found out they were pulling scams about computer issues, so I quit straight away. Before I joined V4 Telecom, I made sure their business was legit and not shady, and I’m fine with it ’cause they’re a proper company working in the UK, Australia, and Ireland. My conscience is clear.

V4telecoms claimed they were linked with BT. They already had my name and number even though I’m ex-directory. Said they could give me better rates and free calls, but only if I qualified. The catch was you had to be aged between 50 and 80, which I am. They asked for my birthday to check if I qualified. I got a bit wary when they started asking how long I’d been with BT. They were quite persistent when I stopped answering their questions. I told them to stop calling me again.

I picked up this call since it came in on my work phone. I greeted them thrice, but was about to disconnect when an Asian-accented gentleman introduced himself as Michael from B4 Telecom. Just as I began to respond, he abruptly cut the line. I quickly used 1471 to trace the number and called back to leave a message regarding the discourteous behaviour of the caller and my intention to report the company. I made it quite clear that I do not wish to be contacted again. Best to avoid any calls from this number altogether.

Got a ring from V4 today. The person said they were calling from Coventry at first, then switched and said they were actually in India. They claimed my info came from the 'Openreach network' but wouldn’t explain much more. They seemed to know who supplies my internet but never admitted it for sure. I told them straight up that their cold call was dodgy and a bit of fraud, pretending to be something they’re not. Seems like they don’t really get UK rules. If you get a call like this, try to find out where they got your number from, might help stop the annoying calls.

I received a phone call from a gentleman with an Indian accent who rang our TPS-registered number inquiring about the business owner. When I pressed him for more details regarding the purpose of his call, he simply ended the conversation abruptly. Clearly, this is a scam attempt.

Got a call from some bloke with an Indian accent on our TPS listed phone. He kept asking for the business owner, but when I asked what he wanted, he just cut the call. Pretty sure it was a scam.

V4 telecom, or should I say telecon, pretends to be from BT but they're definitely not! I’d be worried if they rang up elderly folks or anyone who might get mixed up, cos they talk like they already are your internet and phone provider. They promise cheaper bills and quicker speeds by sending out a new, improved router in the post. Steer well clear of these lot! Any business that uses dodgy tricks to get customers on board can’t be relied on for decent service.

I've been getting calls from this number incessantly, and it's really hampering my ability to manage my business. My phone line is being held hostage by these fools! Quite infuriating, to say the least.

I keep getting these silent calls, sometimes up to three times daily. It’s really annoying!

V4 Telecoms keep ringin me to sign up for their phone and internet, but I reckon it's a scam. Anyone who calls and already knows your details is probably ripping folks off big time. Honestly, if you want their service, give them a ring yourself, but if they’re the ones phoning you, just ignore it. I get loads of calls from different companies too - whatever happened to the Data Protection Act nowadays?

I received a call from a woman who inquired if she was conversing with Mr (my name) before abruptly disconnecting. There was quite a bit of chatter in the background, suggesting she was in a bustling office setting. Quite curious indeed!

I receive dodgy calls from this number on a weekly basis. It’s getting rather tiresome!

As soon as I picked up, there was nothing but silence on the other end. I held on for a moment, but after a few seconds, I decided to hang up. It feels like I'm dealing with a bunch of charlatans or complete time-wasters, if you ask me.

I told the bloke I wasn’t interested in switching and said I’d rather keep paying my pricey Talk Talk bills forever. This Jonny foreigner didn’t take it well and got proper grumpy. Hope he calls again, got plenty more of his rubbish to send back. What a terrible company.

Some phone company calling from abroad, saying I could save 30-40% on my home phone and internet! Was great crack. I kept telling him I spoke 'very little English' in a thick accent like his, so he was proper confused. Then he asked what language I spoke, so I just made up something like 'verhga'. He tried to keep chatting but eventually gave up and hung up. At least wasted a few minutes of his time!

I'm absolutely fed up with these dodgy calls; I've had four this week alone! The latest culprit was the number mentioned above, but as soon as I picked up, I cut him off mid-sentence and hung up. It's the same number that keeps trying to get through, not to mention 001989653255 and 08704441820. My number is meant to be ex-directory, so I'm baffled as to how they're even getting hold of it!

Just got this call tonight. There was a pause at first, then some bloke with an accent I couldnt place said he was from V4Tel or something like that, claimed he could cut my bill by 30%. I kept him talking for a bit (I enjoy messin with them) pretending I was a baffled BT client. He got fed up and slammed the phone down. These scammers are a joke and not worth bothering with!

I’m generally okay with cold calls since they’re part of doing business, but V4 Telecom really annoyed me. It’s not a scam or anything, the company’s legit, but the way they operate is pretty dodgy. Their sales reps, who are mostly in India, act like they’re from BT and promise lower bills. But the prices they offer are rubbish because hidden in the small print are extra charges that can tack on another £10-20 to your costs. Seems like a bit of a shambles, run by only a handful of people, and just a few of them are actually based in the UK.

Got a call from some bloke claiming to be with V4tel, said he worked for BT and could lower my phone bill. When I asked how he got my number, he said it was from some public database. Just a load of dodgy lads from who knows where. Why can’t they find real work instead?

GUY WITH AN INDIAN ACCENT CALLED SAYING HE WAS FROM BT AND OFFERED TO LOWER MY BILL. HE ASKED IF I HAD BT INFINITY OR JUST INTERNET, AND IF I GOT FREE CALLS ON EVENINGS AND WEEKENDS. I TOLD HIM IF HE WAS REALLY FROM BT, HE'D ALREADY KNOW MY PLAN AND PRICES, THEN TOLD HIM TO JUMP IN THE LAKE.

I got a call from this number; I answered, but there was nothing on the other end, and they dropped the call almost immediately. A few minutes later, they were back at it, but I decided to let it ring out. Meanwhile, my husband had a rather dodgy 020 number ring through at his workplace, claiming that someone we know is in hospital. He asked quite firmly, "Who is this?" and the line suddenly went silent. Honestly, how low can people stoop? Hospitals always introduce themselves properly, stating their name and the details of the patient, so it’s blatantly obvious this is a scam. The authorities really need to take action on this!

Got a call from a guy with an Indian accent saying his name was Mark, asking for the business owner. When I said they weren’t in, he just hung up. Definitely sounds like a scam. They probably just try to get you to pick up once and that’s enough for them. If they call back, tell them you use a service run by someone called Richard Head and ask them to say the name again, then tell them you already know it.

Received a call earlier today from someone claiming to be representing Openreach with regards to some modifications in the industry. He was rather persistent in asking about my current services and the amount I was being charged. Kept insisting that Openreach had requested he reach out to me. I pointed out that he sounded awfully like a salesperson trying to hook me into switching providers, which I absolutely had no intention of doing. Then, quite abruptly, he terminated the call! Very shifty business!

I've had this number call me loads of times, a bloke with an Indian accent trying to pitch cheaper deals for my landline and broadband. I told him straight off that I’m not interested in signing anything or agreeing over the phone. When he mentioned my home address, I said he should send me details in writing. Then he tried to put me through to a manager, but I asked him to stop and not ring me again. Now I’m getting pestering calls every day. Would really like to know which companies are handing over our landline numbers to these types of callers.

I received a call from a chap with a thick Indian accent claiming to be from Telecom. He proceeded to tell me he was 'alerting' me about my account. Honestly, I found the whole thing so ridiculous that I just chuckled and hung up on him. It was obvious he was angling to get hold of my bank details. It’s infuriating to think that these individuals prey on the vulnerable to swindle them out of their hard-earned cash. I can only hope that others see through this nonsense and don’t get caught up in their tricks.

There was a pause, then a bloke called me by my name, claiming he was from V4 Telecom and was connected to my existing phone company. He wanted to chat about my phone bills. These kinds of unsolicited calls usually spell trouble or are scams, so I just told him I wasn’t interested, ended the call, and put the number straight onto my blocked list.

I received a call from someone claiming to be from V4 Telecom, speaking with a distinctive Indian accent. He addressed me by name and attempted to persuade me to switch from Talk Talk to V4, offering a tempting price drop down to £35 a month. He also suggested I should cancel my direct debit with Talk Talk. Curiously, he had quite a bit of information about my current setup. On top of that, he promised a brand new modem at no cost. He mentioned he'd call me again next Monday, but the whole situation struck me as rather odd, especially since I've seen numerous warnings about such unsolicited calls being scams.

I get loads of pointless 0800 calls and it’s such a pain. When will BT realise nobody actually wants these rangs? Probably never, cause they’re probably making cash from them! TPS means nothing, companies just give it a miss anyway. Total waste of time.

I had a word with the receptionist, hoping to get in touch with the business proprietor. They mentioned they'd ring me back, as they were quite hesitant to share any information at that moment.

It was just as detailed as others have mentioned - the caller wanted to verify if I was the business proprietor. Upon my response of explaining that I wasn’t, they inquired about whom they could reach out to regarding energy expenses. It definitely felt like a suspicious call, possibly a scam or an attempt at a sales pitch.

This number called me out of the blue saying they were from BT and tried really hard to get me to switch over. No way was I falling for it. I looked up the number I jotted down last week and turns out it’s the same one that said they were from V4 telecom. Honestly, I’m about ready to report them to the police because they just won’t stop bothering me. Properly fed up with it now. Stay well clear of this number!

They called me knowing my name and how much I usually spend on my phone each month, claiming they could offer a better deal. I told them I was locked into a contract with a different company. The bloke with the Indian accent said he was from V Telecom but couldn’t help me at all. I’m blocking this number now, these lot are proper annoying. If it’s not calls, it’s emails from these folks. Feels like they’re all just trying to rip us off one way or another.
