Once again, got calls asking about products, they say it's to help improve their service and offer deals I could easily check on my own. Had 4 calls this morning alone. Proper irritating, but I usually pick up just to shut them off quick. There must be a way to stop these dodgy calls for good.

I got a call from someone claiming to be from the Windows tech team and I managed to record the whole thing. The bloke, who sounded Asian, ended the call by calling me a f******d ******e. Totally not on. Seems like nothing’s being done about this even though it’s clear these people have probably been scamming folks for years, judging by all the other comments here.

I just received a phone call from someone calling themselves "John Shaw," who had quite a pronounced Indian accent. They attempted to pull off the classic Windows support scam. He provided me with the number 0203 630 0338 for a callback. However, I’ve seen previous comments suggesting that this number is indeed tied to the scam, and ringing it could lead to extra charges. I’m left wondering, why hasn’t this number been taken out of service yet?

Received a call from a chap named James Walker, who spoke with a strong Indian accent. He claimed to be from the Windows support team and insisted that my computer was riddled with viruses. He was rather forceful and would not take no for an answer, despite me explaining that I work for a large organisation with a robust security team in place. It’s all a total con-don’t fall for it!

I just received a rather dubious phone call from a chap who had a thick accent claiming my computer was under siege and would soon be out of action. He insisted that I needed to grant him access to 'neutralise' the so-called hacker, contending that some report had been sent from Windows 10. I kept him chatting by posing all sorts of ridiculous queries, and he insisted he would provide my 'licence' number, which he ultimately managed to rattle off - all 37 digits of it - to validate his legitimacy. He mentioned he would guide me on how to locate this number. When I said my husband would need to handle it, his tone shifted noticeably. He inquired about my husband's whereabouts, to which I replied he was out, and asked for his number to return the call. The fellow supplied 02036300338 and called himself John, then abruptly disconnected - sounding rather irked in the process! When I checked, the last number that rang my phone ended in 011312048709.

Got a call from this number, some guy with an Indian accent saying his name was Peter Wilson. He claimed he was from Windows Support and said my computer was on the verge of crashing and told me to switch it on. Definitely a scam, don’t fall for it!

Got a call from someone named Oliver Dawson, but he had a noticeable Indian accent. He said he was calling from the Windows Technical Support Centre in London and claimed that my Windows computer was under attack. He gave the full address, 2 Kingdom Street London W2 6BD, which actually matches Microsoft’s real address. I rang the Microsoft office using their official number and was told straight away this was a scam - they had never heard of Oliver Dawson.

Some bloke called my mum early this morning, like 7am, claiming his name was ‘Oliver Morgan’ and saying her PC was under attack. Mum isn’t easy to fool, but she doesn’t really get computers and started getting worried when he kept saying her Windows machine was at risk and something had to be done. He even gave her a name, address and some kind of registration number tied to her computer. Luckily, she just ended the call, but it’s definitely a con. No idea what details they wanna get, but best to stay clear of it.

Got a call from Austin Smith real early, like 6:30am, with a really strong accent. He was pushy and kept repeating some stuff about my computer being hacked. He gave me a number without me asking, so I looked it up, found these reviews, and ended up being quite blunt with him.

I just had a rather unsettling phone call claiming to be from Microsoft, stating that there had been some errors on my computer over the past couple of months. I quickly realised it was a scam and told the chap as much. When I asked for their contact number, he provided the one listed above. Curiously, he inquired when I intended to call back, and when I said I would do so later, he ominously warned me that my computer might get blocked from their side if I didn’t play along. At that point, I decided to cut the call. Quite the cheek, isn’t it?

A guy with a thick accent said he was from Microsoft and that my PC had a virus. I told him to keep talking. He started telling me what to do. I’m actually a software developer with over 20 years experience, so I just pretended to follow along but didn’t touch my computer at all for about 45 minutes. He kept struggling saying things like “I can’t see the start button.” Eventually, I told him I was using Linux, not Windows, and that I’d wasted 45 minutes of his time. Hopefully that put a stop to him tricking anyone else.

01484 863114 /0203 6300 338 / withheld / internationnal numbers kept calling me sayin there was an issue with my Windows computer (which I dont own!). They claimed there was a bad virus. Im on the TPS list so I asked who it was and this guy with a foreign accent got really shouty, asking if I had a Windows laptop. He was pushy and rude. Totally scammers. No way these calls are from Huddersfield or London.

Got a call from someone claiming to be Windows Support, saying my computer was gonna be shut down because of some serious problems with my server sending out loads of malware alerts. They told me I had to do exactly what they said or they’d have to terminate it. The bloke on the phone was really pushy and rude. I asked to talk to his manager, a guy called Austin Smith (noticed someone else mentioned him too on 06/06/17). Then I rang the real Microsoft helpline at 03448002400 and they said this was most likely just another scam.

I’ve just had a rather dodgy call claiming to be from Microsoft, alleging that my computer’s been throwing up errors over the past couple of months. I quickly discerned it was a scam and asked for their contact number, which they provided-strangely enough, it was the same as the one noted above. When I mentioned I’d call them back later, they ominously warned that my computer could be blocked remotely if I didn’t play along. That was the final straw for me, and I promptly ended the call.

Got a call from someone called John Wilson. The spiel was exactly the same as what other people have mentioned here before. I asked him for his number so I could see if he was legit, and he gave it to me without much fuss. Then I said I’d look it up online. He kept pushing me really hard, almost sounding aggressive, to get me to switch on my computer. Obviously, I refused and told him I’d just check the number he gave me. After that, I ended the call.

Got another call from Jordan Williams claiming to be from the 'windows tech support'. He kept insisting I turn on my computer, saying it was seriously compromised. He was really pushy about it, threatening to block the computer and all connected devices right away. I told him I couldn’t access the computer and he kept pushing, asking who owned it if it wasn't me. I refused to share any details. Then he said he'd block the computer but would leave phone access open. He gave the number 02036300338 and told me to ask for him. Proper persistent bloke!

Like others here, I got a call from a guy with a thick accent who called himself Max Johnston from Windows Tech Support. He was really condescending and pushy, trying to make me access my computer while we were on the phone. I told him I’d ask a colleague to sort out some old files next week, but he insisted it was urgent, claiming my computer would break down by the weekend. When I asked if he was from Microsoft, he dodged the question and said something like “Microsoft and Windows are the same.” Luckily I found this site and now know it’s just a scam.

Really pleased to hear that the head of one of these firms got slapped with a £400,000 fine. Cold calling people without permission is totally against the law. Wonder why they waited so long to take action on this?

It wasnt the director personally who got fined, it was the company itself, which sadly has now gone into administration, so getting the cash back is looking pretty unlikely. The positive side is the officials are thinking about holding directors personally responsible in situations like this in the future.

Some guy called from "Windows Tech and Help Support Team" claiming to be Peter Wilson. He said my computer’s got a virus and told me to visit some website to download their software so he could remotely fix it. Total rubbish. They’re just trying to get control of your PC and later ask for cash to give you back access to your own files. These scammers should be caught and put behind bars.

I got a call from someone saying he was Peter Wilson, supposed to be from Windows Support about my laptop. I jotted down his name, number and company but told him I'd call back later. Funny thing is, the call showed up as UNAVAILABLE on my phone! Didn't bother calling back as I'm pretty sure it's just another dodgy scam. Looked up the number and thought I'd share my experience here.

Got the same call. Some bloke named Peter claiming to be from Windows Support, giving me a registration number. I asked if he worked for Microsoft - funny enough, my PC was acting up then - he said no, claiming Windows is a different company, which sounded like nonsense to me. Asked for the number he rang from, he gave it, and I just ended the call. Come to think of it, Microsoft wouldn’t ring out of the blue like that anyway.

Got a call from someone with a thick Asian accent claiming to be from Microsoft Technical Support. Said all the usual stuff that’s been mentioned here before, but he was willing to give his phone number. I couldn’t really make out what he was saying properly, so I told him no thanks when he offered to access my computer to fix the supposed Windows errors Microsoft was apparently getting from my system.

Got a call from Tony Fredericks claiming to be from Microsoft. He said my computer had some hacked files and told me to run some command prompts. I asked him for his number and he said one, but when I checked with 1471, it showed the actual number was 087127000364.

Just like a lot of others, I got a call from someone called "Tony" claiming to be from "Windows". He said there were alerts that my PC was hacked and if I didn’t let them fix it, the hackers could totally shut my computer down. I said I’d write down his name and number and get back to him. When I looked up the number online, the accent was obvious - really strong Indian - but the bloke insisted his name was Tony Fredericks!

this reeks of a scam - two guys called Sam and Jonathan, both Asian, tried to get remote access to our PC. they ended up shutting it down after we said no to paying. now the computer is totally useless. watch out, don’t fall for this nonsense.

My elderly mum got caught out by this con. A man with an Indian accent called her, claiming her PC was infected with viruses and offered 'lifetime protection' for £200. She gave them her card details and they had her download 'Supremo' remote access software so they could control her computer and watch everything she typed, stealing all her private info! When she told me what she'd done, I immediately contacted Action Fraud and the bank, then wiped and fixed her PC. Please don’t fall for this trick!

My nan just got a very persistent bloke calling her, ringing three times and telling her she didn’t understand. He went on about being from Microsoft and warned her that her computer would stop working if she didn’t follow his instructions. I grabbed the phone off her and spoke to the guy. He gave me some so-called ‘computer registration number’ and asked me to log onto the computer to check it. Then he tried to get me to open the system through the run command. I told him I'd verify his info and call back (he gave me the number to check). So I googled it and came across this website.

i got a call from this number and the woman said she was from windows head office in london, saying there was a serious issue with my windows software. she said i had to sit at my PC and do exactly what she said. i told her i have good antivirus software already, but she said this was something way worse than a virus. i asked her name and phone number, and she said it was lisa williams. i told her id call back after checking things out. she rang me back not even 2 minutes later, pushing me to act immediately. i looked up this number and found out it’s a scam, so watch out!

A guy with a really deep voice kept telling me my internet had an error and said if I didnt log in, my phone, TV, and laptop would all stop working in a few hours. I felt really pressured and nervous but I didnt fall for it. He didnt even bother to ask who I was (I was actually at my parents’ place using their phone), he just kept on at me. When I finally hung up, he warned me about shutting all my stuff down. He rang again the next day but my parents just told him off straight away. Dont get caught out by this.

I've received calls from scammers claiming that my computer is infected with a virus and insisting that they need to conduct a check. They even mention having my CLSID Code, which is pretty much standard across most computers. My advice? Just hang up! Don’t give them the chance to access your machine. It’s all a ruse!
