There was this noise like a call centre in the background. When I asked, “Who’s calling?” they just disconnected on me.

Total scam alert - got a woman on the line with a heavy accent, barely speaking proper English, claiming she was from BT. She started asking how my day was and said there’d been issues with my phone line, needed to send me a code to verify things. Told her my number was a landline. She said I wasn’t getting it and would call her supervisor. Then another woman came on, but sounded exactly the same to me. I just laughed and told them no clue what they were up to, but it wasn’t working here. Then she told me to ‘get lost’ and hung up! Pretty sure that wasn’t BT! Ha!
