Classic Windows tech support! They told me my PC was infected. I asked which one exactly, considering I have six PCs across three internet providers (which I don’t, but confused them). This seemed to throw them off and I got passed to another clueless bloke who just repeated the same nonsense. I told him he was talking bollocks and maybe he should actually learn about computers. Funny enough, he just hung up on me! Now they’re blocked.

Got a call from someone claiming to be Windows support, saying my PC was full of nasty viruses! She then told me to turn my computer on. I told her mine’s been off for weeks. Told her to take me off their list (yeah right).

Got a call from this number, the guy claimed to be from Microsoft saying they sent me alerts about updating my software. He warned that because I ignored them, my computer is exposed to viruses. He then said he’d force those alerts on my machine, but when I asked who approved this, he just ended the call. Also noticed they keep switching the last part of the number. When I tried phoning back, the number wasn’t real.

Got a call from some bloke claiming my PC was messed up, but I don’t own a Windows, I’m all Mac. Then he tried to get me to let him access my computer remotely. When I asked what for, he went quiet and started swearing and being proper abusive. Ended up reporting him to the cops.

Got a call today from some bloke claiming to be Windows tech support, telling me there were loads of problems with my PC. Been tricked before, so I quickly figured it was a scammer - doesn't make sense as there isn’t really a ‘Windows tech support’. If anything, it’d be Microsoft support for Windows. Told him I’d call back to check if he was legit. Then he says you can’t ring a satellite phone. Why on earth would Microsoft use a satellite phone? Plus, the number looked like it was from London anyway. Made no sense at all.

Got a call yesterday claiming it was a survey for the national lottery. They already knew my name and address and asked if I played the lottery and how often.
