These spam callers are driving me mad! They ring me a couple of times every day. Won’t tell me who they are unless I give my details, which I definitely didn’t do. Ended the call when they started using my name though!

Got a call at work earlier claiming they’d blocked dodgy international calls on our behalf. Then they started quizzing me about our computer set-up. I kept asking where they were from, but she got proper rude and started calling me names, which was a big red flag it was a scam. So I just stayed polite and ended the call.

They called me 3 times today, first time I was fast asleep and they woke me up, second my wife answered and was puzzled why they kept asking for her when she’s not the account holder or the internet user. Third time I picked up and they just cut off the call. How come no one does anything to shut this lot down?

Got a call from this number today at 3:27 pm. When I picked up, no one said anything. I tried calling back and all I got was a weird buzzing sound. Proper annoying! Is there any way to get rid of these pests? On my iPhone I can just block them, but on the landline, I’m completely lost.

Like others have said before, this is just another spam call claiming there's a virus on my PC. I've blocked the number now. Honestly, how did these pests even bother us before mobiles were a thing? And where do they get our phone numbers from anyway?

Today I got calls from this number and another one, but I didn’t pick up because I looked them up on this site and saw they’re scammers. I’m not falling for it. Honestly, I’m getting really annoyed with all these calls. You’d think they’d get the hint by now.

Got a call from a number that looked almost the same yesterday and got the exact same thing. When I picked up, the caller just left the line open but said nothing. This is a classic cold call scam. They claim they’re from Microsoft with an ID like 888DCA600 - FC0A-11CF-8F0F-00C04FDFD062 and ask you to enter an ASSOC command to prove it. That code is common to all Windows PCs though. I ended the call straight away, but from what I found online, their usual trick is to display fake error messages on your computer, trying to convince you something’s wrong so you’ll download a programme giving them remote access to “sort it out”. Complete rubbish!!

BE WARNED!! They rang me claiming their system showed my Microsoft Windows laptop was in danger. I pretended to follow along and did everything he asked until it came to downloading something onto my machine - they want you to open a website that gives them access to your computer - DON'T EVER DO THAT. I then told him I actually use a MacBook, not a Microsoft Windows device, so what he said was clearly rubbish. After that, he called me a nasty name and just hung up!! Absolutely appalling!

I received a rather dodgy phone call from a chap claiming to be from Microsoft, introducing himself as Harry Johnston (or was it Winston?). He mentioned some complaint regarding my computer and insisted that it needed urgent attention. When he told me to sit down at my computer, I politely declined. That’s when he resorted to threats, saying the police would come to arrest me! I’m convinced this is a scam. He didn’t even know the proper postcode for their office. Got a call from someone with an Asian accent, started with the typical opening spiel, but then the line just went dead and I ended up blocking the number.

Actually, the right word here should be 'rung' instead of 'rang'.

I've had calls from this number a few times but they never bother to leave any voicemail. Sounds like it could be another one of those scams!

I've had a few calls from someone named Harry claiming there’s an issue with my PC. Each time, he just introduces himself as Harry, which sounded off to me. I told him I wouldn’t talk unless I got a proper letter from Microsoft first, and that no official would start the conversation just like that.

I just received a rather dodgy phone call claiming to be from Microsoft Windows, warning me about a serious virus infecting my computer. The person on the line had a thick foreign accent, which sent alarm bells ringing. So, just a heads-up folks-don’t be fooled! It’s clearly a scam aimed at fleecing unsuspecting individuals out of their hard-earned cash. Stay alert!

Got a call from some bloke in the States trying to 'repair' a computer I’ve never owned. Definitely put him on the block list - total waste of time!
