Got a call from this number today, some guy with a strong Asian accent who said his name was Peter 😄 I told him “If you’re Peter, then I’m the Easter Bunny.” He went on for like 4 or 5 minutes trying to prove that was really his name, but I wasn’t buying it. Eventually, he asked “So what’s my name then?” I just said, “How should I know?” and ended the call 😂 Totally blocked!

Over the last couple of days, I've had quite a few calls from 0203 409 17##. When I finally picked up today (0203 409 1764), it was the same old story: they said they were from "Windows" and that my laptop was sending virus alerts. When I said I wasn’t convinced, the bloke got really nasty, kept calling me a liar, and even said "you've probably missed your meds today!" (!!!) which was totally uncalled for.

I told him no worries, I’ve got a thermometer and I’ll just stick it in the front slot and maybe give it some calpol if it’s running hot. He tried saying I don’t need to do that since he can fix it for me. I said I didn’t hear it sneeze or cough but might have a bit of hay fever ‘cause I was cutting the grass yesterday. Got a call from a woman with an Indian or Asian accent. I knew straight away it was one of those scam calls. She said she was ringing about my Windows setup and there was an issue she'd help fix. She told me to switch on my computer, but I told her it was on already. She then asked what was on my screen. I said I use a Mac and just had my network admin tools open for work. Had the same experience, caller claimed to be from Windows (not Microsoft exactly, probably some particular team). Decided to mess with them a bit, they wanted me to access my computer remotely, which is actually miles away right now. I asked when they might ring back. Tried to get their number so I could call them instead, but she dodged the question a few times, saying their office hours are only 9 to 4 (wouldn't mind working there myself). This number is definitely a scammer trying to trick you into giving access to your computer. The bloke on the line sounded Indian or Pakistani, claiming he was calling about my PC. As soon as I mentioned I’m a senior software dev and have worked with UK police systems before, he hung up quick. Usually, I’m the one helping people, not the other way round.
