Got a call from 02032872229, some bloke saying he was a BT technician, told me my wifi was hacked or something, I just slammed the phone down!!!

Got back home and saw I'd missed a call. Tried ringing back but no answer. Looked up the number, and sure enough, it was a scammer.

As soon as you pick up the phone, they disconnect immediately, and if you try ringing the number back, it informs you that the number isn’t valid. It’s obviously a scam, no doubt about it!

Just like others have said, I got a call from someone speaking with an Indian accent, claiming to be from BT in London. They said there was some kind of security issue with my internet and even gave me a 'security ID' number to sound convincing. I didn’t buy it for a second, felt dodgy as hell!

Pretty much like the others here, I got a call from someone with an Indian accent claiming to be from BT in London. They said there was a security issue with my internet and even gave me a security ID number to sound legit. I didn't buy it for a second, felt dodgy as heck!

Said he was from BT, spoke with an Indian accent, and asked if I'm a user of the internet. I said no, then he changed his question to ask if I ever used the internet, I said no again, then just said alright, have a good day and ended the call. Sounds like a scam to me!

Just like others mentioned, this bloke said my internet was hacked. I told him if that was true, I'd contact my internet company. Then he suddenly asked how old I was! I cheekily said it was a bit rude askin' a lady that and what that had to do with the internet. He said I sounded ancient 'cause I didn't know how to switch on my computer and suggested I fetch my husband! I said I don't have one and jokingly asked if he fancied marrying me. He quickly hung up after that!

She claimed to be from BT's tech team and said someone else was using my router. Told her we have a secure connection but just let her go on with her strong foreign accent. Then I said I’d contact BT to check it was legit and she could ring me back in an hour. Classic scammers.

Got a ring from a lovely lady claiming to be from BT, saying she could fix a security issue for me, no cost. I mentioned I’d check with my internet company first, and after repeating myself a few times, she threatened to cut off my internet. I said that’s not on and quickly ended the call. Didn’t get her name as her accent was really hard to understand, sounded foreign.

I managed to keep the caller going for about 13 minutes by acting clueless. At least it gave them a break from bugging other people. Left him on mute for like 5 minutes while I sorted my PC, then unmuted and said I’d put it by the window like he wanted. That’s when I started chuckling and ended the call.

Total cheats. Those positive green reviews are obviously put up by the scammers themselves, and it's clear from the bad English they use.

I got a call from this number and when I answered, they just kept chatting among themselves and then hung up! Definitely sounds like a scam to me! I checked out the reviews on this site about callers from this number and it’s mad how the scammers seem to be leaving positive comments pretending they’re legit! BEWARE, don’t fall for it!

Some bloke called himself 'the BT tech team' and started rattling off some fake tech jargon. I told him straight up he was talking total nonsense (which he definitely was). His classy reply? "F### yourself!" I then asked if that's how his mum taught him to talk to folks, and he went on repeating the same thing. You can judge for yourself if that’s how BT normally treats their customers?!

He claimed to be from BT’s tech team but there’s no way that was true. I kept telling him to speak up cause his accent was just too thick for me to understand. Even when he started shouting at me, I said I could barely catch what he was saying and asked him nicely to speak louder. By the time he was nearly yelling down the phone, I just put the phone down. Must be a thing where he works or something.

So this bloke calling himself 'David Williams' pretending to be from BT was actually trying to scam me by getting into my computer for some dodgy business. I played along for a bit and then told him straight, said he sounds clever and has a way with words, so he really ought to look for a proper job instead of scamming folks. Told him making a living by tricking people is just shameful. He finally admitted he’s in Pakistan and then asked if I could give him a job!
